Hey guys! I've not been here a few days but I am back! And today I bring you a Millionaire rip-off! In Greece, as you may or may not know, the host of the show was Spyros Papadopoulos. Well, NET the then-public Greek channel had stopped airing Millionaire for about 3 years before the show came back with a different host in a private channel, ALPHA. But! It seems that NET wanted to use Papadopoulos for a quiz game show, so they made a new show "Tois Metritois" (="Cash", approximate translation), a sample of which you can view below. The show pitted two teams against each other in a Millionaire-like game show. The problem is that everyone made the connection with the sounds, host and format and the show looked like "cheap Millionaire" insted of something original. ... jk. In all seriousness though, it was a quiz game show with four possible answers to a question, played in the same time slot, in the same channel with the same presenter. Also, fully scored. I mean Obviously they had to make some changes, otherwise they’d have problems, but in its essence it’s a remarkably similar game and its timing and people involved made it look even worse. I don’t know how much it looks like a rip-off to the foreign audience of this forum, but to me, I assure you, it sure felt like one.
