Obviously it won’t be the same than when Chris hosted it, that is pretty much a given. However, I personally feel Jeremy is a good choice, due to his popularity with the public, the fact he’s well known from his other shows (Top Gear and The Grand Tour mainly), and his style of humour. If this succeeds, I think it’ll be a mixture of how well it’s adertised, the format the show uses, and Jeremy’s hosting quality. If anyone’s wondering why this had gone a little quiet in recent days, it appears Jeremy’s been on holiday in the Caribbean. I know that it’s the Daily Mail, but it says about a few things we were only assuming before. 1) it’s happening and 2) it’s going to be on ITV. I know it’s a tabloid, but it does have to have *some* truth in it, due to fact the Mail is regulated. (In print, at least, so I’m assuming that’s online too?) If he’s now back in the country, we should hopefully get some more news in the next few days and weeks. As an aside, if this does happen, I’m more than happy to do recaps of each episode here for those who won’t be able to watch the episodes themselves. Not sure how I’d go about this, but something can be sorted later to the time.

Thanks to BeachBoy99 in the Shoutbox, we now have a link to ITV’s casting page. Though it’s certainly not a guarantee of its return in the show, there is also mention of Fastest Finger!

From what I have seen on various websites, Stellify Media a Northern Ireland production company owned by Sony will be the producers. I haven't found anything from ITV or Stellify to confirm this yet.

One things that's interesting about the application page is that there's no form or information of who to contact. Considering it says applications are already open, I'm assuming this is probably an error on ITV's part, unless they're still waiting for a few things.

@regisfan no problem! I just came across the link on ITV's website but there was no advertising to it. As millionaireloveruk mentioned, there is no way of contacting them or even a shortcut to an application form as of yet, so I'll be keeping a close eye on the site. When the casting opens for Millionaire, I might give it a shot to see if they get back to me! After all, I am 18 now. I've already been in the Countdown audience this year, and that was fantastic ( highly recommend it if you are a fan of the show!!) so a chance like Millionaire would be phenomenal - even if I only won £1,000. I'm delighted that the show is coming back and I hope it will be a success like it was before. In fact, it appears that some game shows are making a comeback now - it's been rumoured The Weakest Link could be making a possible return at some point this year, but that definitely hasn't been confirmed. Countdown is still going strong after 35 years (which I'm pleased with). I just wish Deal or No Deal could be brought back, as that was my favourite, but that's unlikely.

By the way, I wonder what format we're going to expect when the show returns. Maybe there's a chance we get to see a new, revamped one compared to UK Clock?

When the casting opens for Millionaire, I might give it a shot to see if they get back to me! I've just checked the website, and it now contains a link to a site where you can submit an application. The website also has Stellify Media's logo on it, so this is all starting to seem real now. One thing that's certainly... interesting, is that one way you can register is via Facebook. I don't have a clue how that would work or why they want to do that, but I'm not going to enter a submission for this series, so I couldn't tell you any more. (Not applying because I'm a few months too young, unfortunately. Maybe when I go to uni I'll apply if it's still running.) Another thing is that everything so far has used the Rave 2007-2010 logo in it, so anyone hoping for a return to the classic format will probably be disappointed. At least it's not Hot Seat, I guess.

millionaireloveruk I think the whole idea of bringing the show back is interesting. ITV must be very confident that it's going to be a success in order for them to bring it back, after only being off the air for what is now just over four years. I can't even recall a game show being recommisioned after being axed for such a short time. Fifteen to One came back in 2014, which had been off the air for eleven years at the time. The Weakest Link has currently been off for almost five years and is yet to return but rumours state that it could be coming back at some point this year. I'm probably not the only one who has a slight feeling this revived series won't do very well, the reason for which being that Chris isn't returning as host. The original show died because it became stale and because the production company kept changing the format and added pointless gimmicks such as the clock and the Switch lifeline. If this revived series has scrapped all of that useless rubbish, it'll be some good quizzing worth watching I reckon. And, if they actually want it to last, they need to have it in a good Friday or Saturday night time slot when most people will be watching TV. What are your thoughts?

I don‘t really care if they adapt the rules again or if they use the rave music or whatever. Nothing can really break the game as long as they have good contestants and they really give them a chance to go all the way. And that‘s the problem. They want people to audition, not just answer a few trivia questions on the phone. It won‘t be "Andrew Smith, accountant from Sheffield", it‘ll be "Andrew Smith, he collects eyelashes and his mother is married to a clown". Cause everyone needs to have a good story and has to be oh so relatable. Maybe I‘m completely wrong, that would be great. My expectations are so low, frankly, they can only surprise me positively.

I agree with Gagamillionaire, they’re going to have to get real people and make them very relatable to the public to a) get people behind them, and b) inspire people to go on the show themselves. In terms of the night they show it, I don’t think Friday or Saturday are the best days if they’re trying to get the largest audiences, especially with it being a somewhat risky-sounding reboot. I can’t remember the last time me and my family watched something together on a Saturday. Friday is a bit better but still, a lot of people may be doing other things and not watching the tele. Personally, I think the best days to get people watching would be Monday and Tuesday. Look at most flagship primetime dramas at the moment: most of them are on a Monday or a Tuesday. (I think, at least. Can’t remember anything major being on other days recently, but I may be wrong.) Maybe even a Sunday would be alright, but I think Monday or Tuesday would be best.

millionaireloveruk Well, we'll just have to see what plans ITV comes up with for this - hopefully - successful reboot. I see what you mean now: Friday and Saturday nights would be awful to broadcast the show, particularly today with the increase of people going out on weekends to be relieved of the stressful working week.

I hope it's not a show reserved for Clarkson's humour. That's what got him replaced by Craig Charles as the master of mayhem on Robot Wars.

the only thing I don't like in Classic Millionaire (1998-2007) is that many FFF contestants were ignored. Introducing 10 new contestants every episode is not really good. Imagine that in an episode, only two/three of ten played in the hot seat. so there were seven/eight ignored FFF contestants. So, what I can suggest is that when an episode has ended, along with the rollover hotseat contestant, the 7/8 remaining FFF contestants are kept for the next episode, +2/3 new FFF contestants chosen from the auditions

After a while they began to let FFF contestants roll over onto future shows if they wanted to, so that everyone who got on the show would get a chance to play.

I can’t imagine how teasing it must have been to be on that set and never get a chance to play the game. Either don’t call so many people in, or give all of them a chance. Otherwise the FFF is just there to rub the fact that they won’t play in their faces!
