This ITV press release from the 9th March contains some details I haven't seen pointed out here like the fact there will be 15 questions. Also interesting to note that it has been updated to include the trailer released yesterday.

'New cues' is just a tiny bit worrying for someone who loves the Classic-based scores. Unless of course that means readapting the Clocked cues to fit a non-timed format... Judging from the trailer though, I'd say any changes aren't going to be really huge changes like we saw in 2007, as that trailer used the TWM Theme, classic Hot Seat Crossover and a segment from the Rave opening. Guess we'll just have to wait and see! On another note, why are they doing a 20th Anniversary special in May? Does this mean we could potentially have more in September if it goes well?

I'm willing to bet that's what it is - the US clock cues as basis for the new score. Even though that sound package is now 10 years old, it's only been used for 2 years Stateside and it really does feel like an appropriately refreshed version of the classic stuff.

I really like the trailer and maybe that it's just me but they're using the TWM clock cue, which is the equivalent of the 'Ask the Expert' bed, which Strachan said would be useful for 'Ask the Host' so maybe that lifeline will be part of the show. My guess is that what we're seeing in the trailer is the unfinished set (or a prototype one). Indeed, the podium looks very cheap (and it doesn't seem like they're actual screens, unless they're switching to tablets) and the two columns are incredibly low, which makes the whole set look small. The graphics they've created for the floor show that they'll be using a video floor (Why would they have bothered creating a logo animation just for the trailer?). I believe that the elements we see in the trailer are the basis of the actual set which, I hope, will be a little more elaborate than that! Idolsfan

I am so stoked. I really hope that isn't the finished set, but we shall see. In fact.. I will know very soon, I just got tickets and am planning to fly over for a taping.

That's dedication indeed It definitely seems like the upper halves of the front columns (the distinctive curving back and then forward and up to the circular rail for the lights) are yet to be put in - alongside what I've already mentioned re: the amphitheatre-style seating (which I doubt they'll get rid of). Question is, will the side sets of columns still remain as the circle around the big floor monitor only has an 'opening' for the front columns... In any case, this is shaping up to be a very nice refresh of the classic design.

Apologies for the double post (will delete if needed) but here's a photo of what's described as the 'teaser trailer set'. Looks like this was just temporary, maybe based on the actual final design which they are working on as we speak? http://instagram.com/p/BhqkxNpBxld In any case, the designers are MADE Workshop based in London. workshop.wearemade.london/ Doesn't seem like they design much for actual shows though, rather commercials/promo videos. TL;DR, sounds like this set was done specifically for the teaser.

Judging from the image, and the designers location, the filming might have taken place at the London ExCel

It's already been mentioned in the shoutbox, but it hasn't been mentioned here, so here's a picture of the clapper that's used.

I hope at least some elements of this design will carry over into the real deal!
