So I noticed this subject sparked some discussion on a previous thread and I decided to make a new one about it. I think that the ask the Audience lifeline should always be used after the 50:50 because it gives the audience a better chance and automatically discourages those who weren’t that sure to begin with. However it seems that many people wouldn’t agree with me... so let’s have a poll and check!

I explained in the other thread why using AtA first is the better strategy. Heres a link to a post where Jeopardy champion Mike Dupee explains it even better. link

At first I thought it was better to use 50:50 and then ATA, but then I realized how poor of a choice that actually is.
Not many times will you see the audience have a majority vote on a single answer when you get higher up in the money tree. If you use Ask the Audience first and you actually see a majority vote, then you have a better idea of who probably knows the right answer.
If you use the 50:50 first though and then you ask the audience, all it is doing is taking the people that don't know the answer, and giving them a better shot at guessing the right one. That alone could very well throw off the numbers and make the results be a lot closer, which in turn results in a much tougher decision for the contestant.
