So apparently there's a stage play based on the Charles Ingram case.

You can't say the Ingram incident hasn't left a lasting impact. The affair led people to think Martin Flood was cheating, though he was later cleared. The Ingram family later appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap in Britain. The Best Picture movie Slumdog Millionaire was inspired by Ingram's cheating, and in turn, Slumdog Millionaire helped reignite an interest in the show and was one of the reasons for the Primetime 10th Anniversary in the U.S., which gave us Ken Basin. It is still referenced to this day, hence Jeremy Clarkson telling the audience not to cough on the first episode of the 20th Anniversay special.
It is arguably the most well known moment in Millionaire history, with the possible exception of John Carpenter phoning his dad. If the play was available here in the U.S., I would love to go see it.

Agreed. In fact, I'm pretty sure the "Major Fraud" is an inside joke to me and a friend of mine, as we use some sort of reference to that almost every day. It would be pretty hard to not say that the Major Fraud has had a really big lasting effect on Millionaire as a whole, because it definitely has.
