With the UK version's new season in place of Who Wants to be A Millionaire, they have added the ask the host lifeline. At first, I thought it wouldn't make sense because the host has the answers to a question. But, my previous knowledge of the host screen has told me that the status of correct or incorrect (with the correct answer) is not shown until the final answer is given. So, with the host Jeremy Clarkson in the new season of WWTBAM in the UK, how well do you guys think the new lifeline will perform? If the poll closes before you answer, post about it on this thread.

Truthfully, I think the specials showed it could go either way. Clarkson actually got more right than not knowing or being wrong, though it seemed useless to some. I thought Ask the Host brought out some lightheartedness as well. It hasn't been a great lifeline, though hardly a complete failure. It's hard to justify Jeremy roasting the contestants who struggle, though.

So far the polls show that it worked okay or great.

For me, i'm pretty mixed about it because while it did seem as Jeremy did not know a lot of the answers to the questions, at least most of the time after the lifeline is used, the answer was the right one anyways.

The results are in! It appears that most of you that the Ask-the-Host lifeline works Okay. If you want, you may place your input why on this thread. Those that didn't answer the poll or didn't have time, you may write about it here as well.

This is a great idea for a lifeline! The hosts are often great comedians and have the best lines to say at the best times. Regis for example never missed an opportunity to make a joke during his run as host so I think that watching the hosts try to answer the questions will be fun to watch!

Just imagine it being used during the final question!
