...won a million dollars in four years?
I get the impression that the producers don't want people to win.
First of all, I don't know if this is just me, but I think the questions have become MUCH more difficult in the last 2 or 3 years. I think if Smith or Christy were in the hotseat now they would not make it to a million dollars. After the $50,000 question some of the questions become ridiculously hard (Seriously, is there anyone here that actually knows what the most commonly used noun in the english language is? I'll be impressed if someone does...Or that question about the type of oranges that are used in a certain type of beverage, I can't remember it exactly, but really who cares...)
The second thing is that the type of contestants get on the show now are alot different than before. During the Primetime version, most of the contestants were middle age, white, brainiac types that you would probably see on Jeopardy or something. Now they just seem to bring anyone onto the show.
But it's not all bad. I kind of like how they made it harder. Now it makes it more suspensful and special when someone wins a million dollars, it seems like a big deal unlike the primetime version where people would win every few months.
