Hi everyone,
Here is my audition. Thus far, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as an active member on these boards, where I have grown to know a number of our regular participants and increased my Millionaire knowledge. When signing up I discovered another account under an old email address but it had no posts, suggesting I have been lurking here as far back as 2012!
I live in the UK and therefore my knowledge of the show typically revolves around its version, as indicated by a number of my contributions. Before I became an active member my only knowledge of other versions (namely US) came from YouTube. I have been blown away by some of the outstanding posts by our members, particularly those of millionairenut who actually only joined a month or so prior to me. Their knowledge of the show has taught me a lot and inspired me to increase my own understanding and share that with our community. I try to give back as much as possible, such as when I helped Tim0n to reupload some deleted Polish Millionaire videos for us to enjoy.
As you may have read elsewhere, I enjoy playing my own games of Millionaire with family and friends. Sadly, my general knowledge is somewhat lacking so I prefer to host and quiz others. My current setup is rather basic; I use a version of the game I found in the Creativity section for music cues and a book published in 2000 for questions. I get by but I’m looking for more.
This is why I’m auditioning for the Fan Games. Whilst I don’t know exactly what content awaits inside, if it’s anything like the host screens and similar content I’ve come across on YouTube, I’d be ecstatic. The technical accuracy and sheer dedication which must be required to make this content is awe-inspiring. Whilst I have the interest, I lack the time and the ability to recreate these myself. Indeed, it took me longer than I would care to admit to design this basic Double Dip soundboard I use to enhance my aforementioned game.
It truly saddens me to read that our community has had issues with members stealing/distributing this type of content without permission in the past. As stated, the time and dedication required to produce this content demands respect and I assure you that I have no intention of sharing any of the content available in the Fan Games section. Having read the numerous amendments to the policy regarding auditions, it is evident that the community and its administrators are committed to maintaining the security of these files. I will not compromise that.
As such, my plans for the content are:
1) To enjoy them with family and friends, playing host and even taking part on occasion;
2) To try out content and share feedback with its creators;
3) Subject to permission from creators, using these games in my classroom. I work in a secondary state school and would love to use these to enhance my teaching and pupils’ enjoyment of lessons. wildfilmsshorts2000 was kind enough to produce a logo for a whole school quiz event which I would love to host with the right software. Once again, I stress that this would only take place with the full authorisation of members of the board and creators of content. If you say no, it doesn’t go ahead. I would share more specifics as to my plans nearer the time if anything was to happen.
