i think most of you know that, that Series 1 on Millionaire was a little bit different, i mean first ever contestant on millionaire, Graham Elwell, needed to phone his friend on a handheld phone! but, we won't talk about Graham Elwell, we will talk about soundeffects today. and most of you know that in Series 1, nobody won more than £64,000. and 1998 64k final answer sound is pretty easy to find, there are actually 1998 £125,000, £250,000, £500,000 and £1 MILLION final answers that actually exists! i don't know how he was able to find that, 'cause nobody in Series 1 got far as 64k, so it's super super rare.
imagine, if todays million pound final answer would sound like that:
actually, there's a lot more of rare soundeffects, but i think last 5 questions final answers are the BEST! i mean, how you would react if on millionaire episode they will use it today? but they never will. next rare sound effect is £1,000 win sound:
pretty similar to that one that we all know and love, but at the end of it is a lights down, and then another lights down. strange right? i know, i know there's a lot more soundeffects than it is here, but if you want to watch a full gtx, here's the full video:
so, what do you guys think about really old and short lived soundeffects?

the sound of winning 1000 pounds does not sound like the original one, just as I think about the final answer on the last question sounds from the pilot version of the program are much more interesting

I was about to freak out when I heard that tier 3 final answer sound effect but then I realized it was recorded from the show itself Cool videos, though!

The £1,000 sound effect doesn't sound too different from what we are used to, though it is a bit more abrupt.
The upper tier final answer cues sound rather jarring, though the £1 Million sounded dramatic to me. I'm glad they changed them.

NOTE: only 1k win was used for entire series 1, last 5 questions final answers were used i believe only until show 7 or 8. so yea.
