Greetings peoples! My name is Utamate!
I've had a love for games my whole life. As a kid, I was obsessed with game shows. Throughout middle school, I was crazy about video games. As an 18 year old now, I'm now attached to board games, but still hold my love for game shows and video games. I would always imagine other games I've played and how they would be if they would be in a game show setting. If no one minds me giving an example of what I mean (sorry if you do)...
Think of the movie Circle. A movie where there are 50 people in a room, with their own circle to stand on, and a machine in the middle of the room. Every two minutes, everyone votes on someone to eliminate. If you step off of your circle, you're also eliminated. Elimination causes the machine to electrocute you to death. Last one standing gets to live.
Now, how would I make this a game show setting? First, drop the player number. I'm thinking about 20. 50 would take hours. Second, I can't kill anyone, but this is a game show! We need money! My first idea for a cash prize is $100,000. I don't expect too much of it to make it to the end, I'll explain why in a bit. Next, time limit I would say goes down to 1 minute rather than 2, again for time. Also, change the machine with a host. We don't need someone amazing because this would be run more by the players than the host.
Into the game now. Host starts the game. "[Number] players remaining... Let's play Circle." One minute timer starts. Everyone can vote on a keypad or a touchscreen or whatever, with conversing allowed. Once the minute is up, what everyone voted for is revealed. To make things harder, I don't think it should just be whoever has the most votes is out. To eliminate someone, at least half of the players (rounded up) must vote for the same person.
What if that fails? The game continues, everyone can change their vote whenever they want, and it'll stop as soon as someone has at least half of the votes. Just one issue. Every .75 seconds, $250 will be lost from the prize. $1,000 every three seconds. Meaning it will take 5 minutes for $100,000 to drop to $0. Players will have a button next to them as well. At any time, they can press the button and stop the round immediately, however, they also eliminate themselves from the game. The last one standing takes whatever money is left in the prize fund, whether it be a mere $250 or a massive $100,000.
Hopefully, I've made a good first impression with that, but I can't be too certain. Just like any other person, I have bad ideas as well, and that may be one of them. I'm interested to see who else is around here. Let's hope for the best.
In terms of me irl, I've taken some programming courses, but I don't know enough to say, program a game yet. I'm currently in high school at the moment at senior grade. I play board games with a group of friends every few days during lunch, and I'm an F grade memer. Chances are some will love me but at the same time hate everything about me. I don't really know what else to talk about now, so I'll just cut it off here. Day 1 on Millionaire Fans. Let's do this.
