Many members have been asking me how to gain access to the fan games forum. I really appreciate the hard work of those talented individuals who are working on fan game projects to submit to the site, and I completely understand why their work is in such high demand. I've seen the draw the debut of the fan forum has had, and I'm very pleased.
However, due to the nature of the files being shared in the fan games forum (which include official music and image files from the actual series), the fan games forum simply cannot be open to everyone. Recently, several site members have betrayed the trust of those who provide the community with these official files, and we don't want to offend these site contributors or the official sources who provide us with those files. So, access must be limited.
So, here are some ground rules for gaining the password to the forum. These rules are not set in stone, as the site staff will grant access to members on an individual basis. However, they can be used as a guidelines to achieve the password.
1) Contribute to the community. Make logical posts that fuel intelligent discussion on the site. The best way to gain respect of other site members is to present yourself well on the boards.
2) Make friends. When veteran site members or staffers come to me and speak on another member's behalf, I'm likely to listen. If someone I trust thinks that you're trustworthy, I'm inclined to believe you're trustworthy, too.
3) Contact me personally. If I know you're interested, I'm much more likely to keep an eye out and make a case for you if I have firsthand experience with you and know that you're a good person.
So, the overall key to getting the password is building a good reputation for yourself. If you prove yourself to be trustworthy, access to the fan games forum will be yours.
Thanks, and good luck!
