Since the 20th Anniversary celebration of the original version of WWTBAM, the show was continued with the same format, the same concept and of course... the same host - Jeremy Clarkson. Not only was this a pleasant gift of nostalgia for the fans of the show, but it also revived it's original roots, as most of the impact that had been there from the very beginning (such as the suspense and the drama) were brought back to the light of day once more. But since most of the international versions still rely on the Rave format, and tend to add their own rules and features to the show, I'd like to ask you the following question: Should the current format of UK Millionaire take some inspiration from this? If so, why? And to what degree should the format be changed to keep in the authenticity to this specific format?
My personal opinion:
I believe that it would be a very interesting touch, as it could increase the benefits of the format by keeping a balance in certain aspects: such as difficulty, lifelines, features (such as adding your own safety net), and gameplay. Those are quite productive for the format, as they make rearrangements to the entire concept of playing for a grand prize, and support the directions the show could take to potentially implement unseen aspects or changes.

I think they should switch to the rave format again because classic cues sound a bit outdated. The rave format should include the same rules as they are now in the current version of UK Millionaire, but with no clock.

Maybe they should alter the graphics. The Dutch and Croatian graphics look much better. I’d also like it if they use the rave music again.

I think the gameplay itself is good as it is right now. No need to change that - 15 questions, 4 lifelines with ATH proving to be either useful or funny, or sometimes both, and the custom milestone is handy as well.
The classic soundtrack also works; no, I don't think it's outdated. It's probably objectively better than the rave soundtrack anyway. Plus it works better with the current set.
The set, however could use some modifications. It gets too dark too early, and practically remains so. There isn't much of an element of tension building as the time goes on, it's just always dark. Classic moving heads and extra audience lighting could do the job, though, and allow the progression from light to dark as the game moves forward.
The logo graphics used on set are good, using the rave background is fine, although personally I'd use the animation from the "Win £64,000/£125,000" segment for it. The lozenges have a very "2000 Germany" feel. I got used to them by now, but I'd rather something nicer. In fact, I think the international graphics are better in that respect. I'd like to see win graphics too, but Damian O'Neill & co. are doing a fabulous job at hiding them from us.
Overall, I think a few tweaks could make the revival go from very good to amazing. They aren't, however, necessary, and as we saw already, the show is pulling in solid numbers.
