Idk if this is most likely fitting here, but since WWTBAM recently cancelled it feels like to be the right place. The title of the subject is not clickbait actually. The show "Fresh off the boat" will air an episode this friday on ABC named "Lou Wants To Be A Millionaire?" And they will use Regis Philbin on it as the host of it. Taking the pieces of the WWTBAM US - Syndicated - Season 17 Studio & putting it cheap together for this little episode. Sadly enough the set you will see in the teaser below is wrong on many angles as you will notice. But hey this is still an (at least i believe) one-time chance to see Regis in that studio saying the words "Lets Play WWTBAM!" I have no idea if they will make an actual episode or just showing this a few minute inside the show itsself but we'll see on Friday. Link to the Teaser (Twitter)

FOTB has done a "tribute" of sorts to Wheel of Fortune in the past. Things probably won't be exactly perfect, but it'll be the first time that Regis sits in the hot seat on primetime television in 10 years...

I hope ABC will really reboot this, with the hot seat plus original format and Ask the Host. and let it be hosted by Chris Harrison instead of Regis. not to disrespect, but Regis is too old to do this now.

You know, the current set is pretty good as an imitation of the classic set, considering USA Millionaire got cancelled.

They used the rave question music, which was interesting since it’s an ABC show. Perhaps they could only license those cues.
Seeing the return of Regis and the Hot Seat was beyond awesome. We probably won’t get many more moments like that! Also, shout out to the FOTB crew for making a great set of custom graphics!

Aww man...I so wish I played my game with Regis hosting... Chris was great and all, but I felt like Regis and I would've had much more chemistry on TV.
Anyway, back on topic...I'm surprised they went back to the "block monitors" look. I feel like the "Chrome" Hot Seat design would've looked better on that set.

The episode took place in the year 2000, so the chunky Hot Seat was an homage to the Classic look. |

It looks like the set was build up in its original location over in New York.
i mean just look at 3:08. when the 2 stand outside the set and there are the WWTBAM pics in the background.
Also nope its definitly not chromakeyed cuz
A) Look at the ground not matching the Syndication Setup
B) there are 4 of these inner walls in front of the audience which doesnt make sense, cuz Syndication only used 3.
C) juding by the way the audience ranks/seats are placed, they dont even fit to the rotation of the 2 pillars near the WWTBAM logo and
D) the other 4 pillars are missing at all.

ABC's been desperately looking for one of their summer-season game show reboots to not crash and burn right out of the gate, and they don't realize the solution is right under their noses. All they have to do is reboot WWTBAM with the Hot Seat and classic format, get Chris Harrison back to host, and they're good to go! |
