I was just informed by a ticket holder for this weekends shows that Millionaire will be taping WITHOUT live audiences this weekend. In the email, it says ABC has made the decision to suspend audiences from attending Who Wants to Be a Millionaire given the developing Coronavirus situation in Los Angeles.
How will this work?

I'm thinking something like the old AOL sponsorship. Somehow asking people the questions beforehand, so it's still a poll-based lifeline. Using something completely different feels a bit unlikely to me, but who knows.

Besides ask the audience, the audience has a lot to do with the way Millionaire sounds, looks, and especially those awesome camera shots of the studio. The show will be awesome (especially with that beautiful set) either way, but for a 20th anniversary, it feels like they need an audience to add to the excitement 10 years since prime time.

If they do use a different lifeline in place of Ask the Audience, I'd like to see them bring back Jump the Question.

Nah. That takes away part of the show’s premise: contestants must go through all 15 questions to win the million.

Michael Davies just posted pics on Instagram of Regis & Jimmy doing an interview on the set! And yes: the floor is very similar to the UK set! Looks amazing lit up!

It’s nice seeing Regis on the set. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had him as one of the contestants. Also, look at that FFF podium. Can’t wait to see it!

Did anybody notice in the second picture that the stairs are back? Doubt they light up like the original, but that fixes the biggest issue with the UK set, being that I've heard some people say the seats closest to the columns on either side don't get the best view. Now if they make the early game brighter, it'll literally be perfect IMO.

That would be cool as heck, but in today's age, how would this work? Unless you were literally put on the spot...with the internet and so much information out there, what is stopping people from looking up the answers before giving their responses? |

Yeah, I don't think they would do anything like that anymore for that reason. It seems strange that they are going to proceed with taping without an audience, that would make the studio look really weird.
