Back in the day, the AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) portion of the Ask The Audience lifeline worked as often and as dependable as a McDonald's ice cream machine. If I recall too, that was the trail ends of AIM as well.
With that in mind, if the show did a Facebook livestream with everyone who requested tickets to be in the sutdio audience, they can tally up all the votes. That would take a while to tally up, but thank goodness for the magic of editing.

Or could they replace ask the audience with +1 or use both ATA and ask the host???

How do we know about Plus One? The celebrity contestant can have a friend join them to answer questions. It hasn't been called Plus One, but it seems to be mostly the same. |

I have loved and trust everything ABC has done with Millionaire for this revival. That being said, if they do decide to shoot without an audience for the 20th anniversary, I feel it is due to deadlines and not for the good of the show. I hope they delay taping instead...I want more seasons of Millionaire, and am concerned what this could do for the ratings.

Is it me or is there just one FFF seat and screen behind Regis (bottom left image) ?🤔 Also, the 'gap' for the FFF contestants seems quite small.   |

I really hope not! I hope I am overthinking this. The set looks amazing, Regis looks great, can't wait to see the interview. I want everything to be perfect. With Modern Family finale leading in, Millionaire is in great shape. Just so excited!! I have loved and trust everything ABC has done with Millionaire for this revival. I mean the UK version already tends to dim the set so hard you can't even see the audience so they'll probably just do that a lot more to make the set feel less empty.
Should note that Kimmel's talk show just cancelled tapings entirely, even without the audience.
