At least they didn’t use canned applause, though. Having offscreen crew members provide applause makes it feel a little more genuine, though it’s still a bit weird to hear applause without an audience.

I thought the comeback was awesome. I'm not sure how I personally feel about the set. I also don't get why they didn't at least show the money amounts after a correct answer was given. That felt sort of awkward for some reason. But I'm quite excited over this and can't wait for next week.
Also, did anyone else have their OCD kick in when the lifeline pings were played and the first one (50:50) was played at a lower pitch than it should have been?

There was so much to love about that! Using the classic colors for the question graphics was a genius move! I think they’re my favorite question graphics in any version of WWTBAM that I have seen. Also the studio was absolutely stunning! Everything about the presentation of the show was on point.
Jimmy was also a great host, though I would prefer for him to be more suspenseful. Then again, the questions seemed really easy. I hope they increase the difficulty a bit more since all contestants are guaranteed $32,000 anyway.
I agree that having celebrities participate lightens the tone of the show. This felt very different than what I’m used to since it was not very suspenseful. I find it weird that the celebrities are allowed to converse with their companion for each question until the 10 question, but after the 10th question, they become a lifeline. It seems kind of redundant when there’s already the Phone-a-Friend lifeline. Maybe the contestant should instead have the option to replace the Phone-a-Friend lifeline with the new plus one lifeline (or whatever it’s called) rather than the 50:50. But I’m sure that once the version for normal civilians start, all of this will become irrelevant.
Overall, a solid foundation for a new era of Millionaire!

I am holding out hope that it will come back with real contestants!
Jimmy will be great but he’s still trying to warm up, it seems.
I do think the guy playing the music needs to be beat over the head with a bat, though...

So here's what I think.
*Ask the Host starts*
- The pacing was a bit slow. - I'm a little disappointed in the monochromatic look of the set. - Jimmy seemed a little over-rehearsed at times (even my partner, who isn't as "game show savvy" agreed.) - A few different times there were several explain/suspense + Phone-A-Friend beds playing all at once...why? - And why the $1,000,000 win cue for the walkaway sequence?
All of that being said: I still think the show was incredible, and hopefully most of it was "opening night jitters."
All-in-all, I think Jimmy did a fantastic job, and look forward to many more episodes... And that's my final answer.
*Ask the Host ends*

There was no audience. The only ones clapping were the staff members.

Anyway, I do agree, though I’d like to add that the ‘buddy’ during the first ten questions sometimes made it a little too easy. Maybe they could do it as a 4th lifeline available during all questions, or after correctly answering the 10th question or something?

There was no audience. The only ones clapping were the staff members. For the time being, but once the audience came back into play, the AtA lifeline must be included.

There was no audience. The only ones clapping were the staff members. Oh yeah, they're all quarantined, of course there's no audience...

I think i just an excuse for the fact that no celebrities was ever won the million dollar prize (As Jimmy Kimmel said at the start of the show). I agree that the companion works a little weird maybe if the companion was just an lifeline that you can get after the second milestone but as i said, maybe it was an excuse for not having celebrities winners. Also the celebrities can choose to change any lifeline left and not just 50:50. Overall is what i wanted for the revival and i hope normal prime-time millionaire would be loved again by the USA

Here is my review for the episode in a spoiler tag for those who didn't see it yet:
{Spoiler} Eric Stonestreet did well and so far Will Forte is also.

I loved the revival! It is going to be great having this hour of Millionaire for 8 shows. Some of the cues seemed to be off, and I thought when Jimmy asked the computer what the answer was when they came back from a break was strange. No ATH was used. There are a few things that could be tweaked, but overall very excited. Jimmy is just going to get better and better.
Looks like around 6.5 million people tuned in last night. From what you guys have seen in the past, is that enough?

From what you guys have seen in the past, is that enough? Well, it's not the 30 million number, but it sounds like it could work. That's close to what the average was during the 10th anniversary of 2009. So, it sounds manageable.
