Hi there
Not sure if this idea will go down well with this but here it goes
maybe for new members to this site to prevent newbies from bumping into dead threads they should be deleted that way new members can select topics that aren’t dead compared to a dead thread or just do a sort by when you click the gear icon at the top of the page
if this was a very bad suggestion I apologise ahead of time.

I think *not* locking or deleting old threads automatically is a great filter to see who does and who doesn't read the rules

All kidding aside, we keep older threads around to preserve the conversations and keep a history of the Millionaire fandom. You can look back on the evolution of the fan community by reading through our older threads, and that’s pretty cool!

Being a super moderator on both MSFN and the Chevy Malibu Forums, I can say that this site is fantastic because it's small and ever since the owners of the CMF have up(down)graded to XenForo, we have people coming from Google who will join since it's so much easier to do so and revive threads as old as 11 years old and most of the time they post noob or unintelligent things which results in us locking the threads and becoming quite annoyed because we never had these issues on vBulletin. But as a general rule for as many forums I've been staff over the years, including my own vBulletin forum I had for several years, generally threads are never deleted and if need be, archived. I know that the OP has either deleted himself or has been banned but I'm just throwing this out for the sake of how staff forum moderation works. But I can certainly say that Regisfan, FinalAnswer19, and leimeisei (is he still around?) do a fantastic job at handling this forum not only professionally but they keep it in good working order. As FA19 said, it's a great test to see how reads and follows the rules and who doesn't.

Ooh, I have a lot of respect for people who have run vBulletin forums, that software sucked back in the 3.x days. vBulletin, to this day, remains one of my biggest !@#$-ups of all time. This thing broke so badly for me back in 2009, not even a reinstall fixed this. Only thing that did was the 4.x upgrade.
