All I can say is RIP Regis and thanks for all the wonderful memories. Never heard a bad thing about him and he was always about helping people from what I know. I still remember an old documentary with him saying he would invite kids in and teach them their ABCD's on the FFF machine. We've lost a truly wonderful person and thanks for all the memories is all I can say. He always put a smile on my face and he always will.

I remember watching repeats of him on Millionaire and on Live with Regis and Kelly. I remember being so obsessed with him as a 10-year old and also was wearing a suit just like him, 15-years ago. RIP Regis! Thanks for making the world a wonderful and you lived a great life. We will miss you!!

This is still incredibly hard for me to take in. Millionaire has always had a special part in my life, so naturally, that's where I knew him from. But he's had a long life on the telly, of course being on it more than anyone. This is undoubtedly a huge loss not only to this community, but to television in general. R.I.P. Reege, gone, but never forgotten.

I'm devastated, heartbroken, and overall upset about this loss. He and the show, made a huge imprint in my life while growing up.

Same here. He was one of the greatest men to grace our TV screens. I’ll always consider him the best host US Millionaire ever had. No one could replicate his magic.

According to Wikipedia...it appears as though it was cardiovascular disease that took our beloved Regis from this Earth.

I’m still processing how great of an impact Regis had on my life. It’s amazing how unique his personality was in that that he felt like a lifelong friend, even though I only personally interacted with him for mere moments. I realize that I always took some comfort knowing he was out there making somebody laugh. I’m glad I got to express my admiration in person and that I enjoyed so, so many hours with him on TV.
He was a hero to so many here, myself included. Reading through this thread and seeing that he’s had a similar impact to others has helped me to process this. Glad that we can go through this together as a community.

For those interested, a prime time special about Regis called Regis Philbin: The Morning Maestro airs tonight on ABC.

According to Wikipedia...it appears as though it was cardiovascular disease that took our beloved Regis from this Earth. Makes sense considering his heart problems in the 90s. Taking good care of his body is what got him to 88.

This is what I had to say on my website, arynnia.live (linked so you can verify source, though if you like my stuff, check it out of course) about the passing of Regis: I also had similar sentiments in my content community Discord (which I won't link here, though if someone wants a source they can easily get it): I'm still processing just what Regis meant to me, but he meant more than I'll probably be able to figure out. In fact, I was thinking about Regis and Millionaire before I'd heard he'd passed away, and had decided to do some Super Millionaire (using one of osswmi 's beautiful game controllers if that would be allowed - still want to run that by him, after fixing a bug so I can play with it at home too) with my community members on my channel. I guess that'll be my tribute to Regis. That and this image.

They re-aired Regis’s final episode of Live! again this morning. Man it was amazing to tune in and see him on morning television again after so many years. Such a talent.

It would be nice if they showed some of his "best of" episodes of Live!

Agreed! There were some really hilarious moments over the years. It would also be nice if they compiled some of his best TV moments into one of those Time Life collections or something similar. That would be like a time tunnel through the history of television.
