Maybe they should have made it look more cylinder-like and called it, say, a “peg-turner”. Yes, the name “white thing” was something Pat came up with, but that’s beside the point. Color-coding it, with only Pat holding a white one, would probably have helped too.

It's fairly telling watching the differences in Pat Sajak describing the social distancing measures and Alex Trebek describing same. Alex makes it sound very important and takes great pride in it, while Pat is mostly dismissive and treats it more as a punch line.
