I think we as a society have a moral obligation to take the vaccine, and I am 100% for making it mandatory, much like the vaccines you get while growing up. I'm not eligible for it yet, but you can bet I will be making that appointment as soon as I can.
I believe if you say "no" to the vaccine, knowing that COVID-19 has taken almost 40,000 lives so far (even one life is too many), for any reason whatsoever, you do not care about yourself or your fellow human, and at that point, I won't see you as someone deserving of my respect and empathy as a fellow human.

I am excited to get the vaccine. If the past is any indication, vaccination is the most effective way of slowing the spread of this disease and protecting our communities.
Also, please remember to keep things civil in this thread. The topic of vaccination can absolutely be separated (and should be separated) from political discourse, which is against the rules here.

I got my first dose yesterday and have my second coming up. I think it will be worth it. I want to get back to "the way things were" and I think this is the way to do that.

So you guys probably don't know this, but I'm a delivery driver. I was out there working when COVID-19 was at its worst. I saw dozens of people week after week, and my friends told me I was insane for working such a job during a pandemic. I don't know if I was an asymptomatic carrier or I just got really really lucky. I remember going downtown in March and April of last year to pick up orders and it was nearly deserted. Meanwhile, I drove by a small park last week and there were some thirty vehicles and not one face mask in sight.
The !@#$ I've seen people do here to justify not wearing their mask sickens me. I don't care who you are, what you do, your views, but everyone, everyone needs to be vaccinated. Preferably before the Brazil P.1 variant takes hold in the US. It has already been detected in at least fifteen states, including my own.
I finally managed to schedule my first dose on April 2. Get. Vaccinated. There is no reason not to.

Vaccination aside, I find it absurd(I'd use another adjective, but...) that there're still people who are ignorant of COVID.

Indeed you're so right about that i just don't understand why people are refusing to believe that COVID is of course a real virus sayin: "I don't think covid is real and has been setted up by the government to control us" i say Bulls**t to those who think that. i only listen to FACTS not what these anti people are listening too..

Obviously we can't deny the role of vaccines in COVID-19. However, I think it is possible that the fact that the vaccine was given has led to the subjective psychology of many people, leading to the recurrence of the epidemic.
India is an example. Just about a month ago, it was reported that the country had achieved community immunity thanks to nearly 130 million doses of vaccine given to its people, and it also produces about 60 percent of the vaccine worldwide. But it was the people's self-contradiction to go out without a mask, plus the government's self-contradiction to allow for thousands of participants to return to the COVID-19 "like a tsunami."
So I think vaccines are really important, but the most important thing is the consciousness of the people and of the government.

I saw a photo regarding India's current situation the other day. The mostly dark tone of that photo made it look like apocalypse. Really sad.
