So, I’ve decided to make a thread about something quite interesting.
As you can see, this is about the German-Canadian multi-talent Anke Engelke.
Anke currently holds a world record for appearing on the show the most (seven times).
So... Let’s go down the memory lane!
Anke’s first appearance was in 2006, she appeared on a Celebrity-Special for RTL’s “Spendenmarathon”. She got to the top prize question, but decided to walk away with €500,000.
The following year, 2007, she appeared again. This time, she played for a charity called “medeor”. She managed to get to the top prize question again, but like last time, she decided to walk with €500,000.
Two years later, we’re in 2009. The show is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Anke Engelke appeared as one of the contestants, not even Günther Jauch (the host) knew she was going to be on the show. That night, she made German WWTBAM history with the iconic POTUS and FLOTUS question. Unlike the previous two runs, she decided to walk away on question 14, and won €125,000 for the “medeor” charity.
In 2012, she appears again. This time, she won the same amount as she did on the “10th Anniversary” special. (€125,000)
Three years later, it’s 2015. Anke appears for the fifth time on the show and gets her third €500,000 win. Out of the four participants that appeared that night, she won the most. She donated her winnings to the “medeor” charity.
Let’s take another time jump. We’re in 2017. Anke appears for the sixth time and gets herself a fourth €500,000 win. Like in her previous runs, the money she won was donated to the “medeor” charity.
Three years later, it’s 2020. For the season finale, RTL decided to do a Celebrity-Special. And who did they invite? Anke Engelke, obviously. This time, she wasn’t very lucky. She showed knowledge, as usual. But she sadly got question 13 wrong, and dropped all the way down to €500.
And now, it’s 2021 and Anke is rumored to appear on a Celebrity-Gambler-Special, where the top prize is €2,000,000.
So far, she has won €2,250,500 in total for charity.
What do you guys think of Anke’s runs? Do you think she’ll finally be able to win the top prize?
