There were some rough edges, but a reboot worked in the US. A lot of that is owed to the host, who put forth a strong effort.
I am not familiar with Romesh Ranganathan, but I imagine the success of this version will hinge on his performance. I am slightly concerned about the celebrity angle, though.

Man, such a shame that Anne Robinson won't be returning to this reboot. Jane Lynch is hosting the U.S. revival and she's awesome, hopefully Romesh is a great host that can continue Anne's legacy but also making the show his own. We'll just have to wait and see...

The Queen of Mean stays up there as one, if not the best host within the entire franchise, but versions with a man hosting has done very well as with Edu Manzano in the Philippines and Shiro Ito in Japan.
One thing I'd love to see is that they'd style the titles just like the current NBC one, but like the original, the words curved through the rings instead of the straightened ones we have now.

I actually had a dream that the opening was like that on the BBC ngl.

“Amongst a raft of sensational comedy and entertainment specials, The Weakest Link makes a spectacular return to BBC One this year. With brand new host Romesh Ranganathan, there will be a Christmas special in which he is joined by eight celebrities hoping to win £50,000 for their chosen charity, and an additional four episodes stripped across a week.“ A total of 12 episodes were recorded.

I'll tell you: I'm not particularly confident about this revival: I don't think Romesh is the right fit.
The revival is going to be first premiered as a special at Christmastime, 1 45-minute episode, with a £50,000 top prize.
Love this set though but slightly concerned about the presence of the so-called Bank button I think I can see.
The logo - if genuine so many questions??? I was worried about the possibility of the UK using the US logo but this is something I want to like but I just can't.
Sorry, quite pessimistic, but I'll give it a chance at Christmas.

Romesh has openly said that, unlike Anne, he won’t be taking a mean approach. Which is not a bad thing, especially considering how a lot of original and rebooted versions failed due to the host being mean. I’m honestly looking forward to it.
And also, it’s not going to premiere at Christmas time. It’s going to premiere slightly before that. However, the synopsis I quoted was for a Christmas special.

Really curious about it, although it surely won't be the same without Anne. I've never ever heard of Romesh before as I don't live in the UK, but I really hope he won't present the show like the US host when it was syndicated, 'cause I've seen some clips here and there and it was awful.

I am not familiar with Romesh Ranganathan, but I imagine the success of this version will hinge on his performance. I am slightly concerned about the celebrity angle, though. Watched the first episode, and it was great! I like how Romesh tried to impersonate Anne Robinson at some points (e.g. "Let's find out who thinks...") and also brings his own comedic style as well. The only things I don't like are the announcer (the old one was much more straightforward) and the way the contestants voted the Weakest Link seem to dawdle off the stage. BTW, Romesh Ranganathan is a comedian who is well-known here in the UK for his stand-up comedy in Live at the Apollo (live stand-up gigs from The Apollo Theatre in London) and his comedy show The Ranganation on BBC Two.
Also, {SPOILER ALERT} the best part has to be when Anton thought that Germanic started with a J and was a prehistoric era. Has anyone heard of Germanic Park?

I like the intro animation with the shattered chain quite a bit!

I like the intro animation with the shattered chain quite a bit! Yeah, although the new intro music sounds quite unfamiliar at the start, and only starts to sound Weakest Link-y towards the end.
