This was my favorite game show back in the day! Howie Mandel was the perfect host for this show and the music was very suspenseful especially during bank offers and opening cases! I even got the board game and a personal briefcase just like the show had!
What are your thoughts on Deal or No Deal?

When it comes to entertainment without a quiz, Deal or No Deal was my first choice. What I love most about this variety show is what people need to win. Fortunately, it's part of it, but it's basically a variety show that challenges people's determination - one of the things that each of us needs for important decisions.

I will be happy if someone brings the show back on air. In Bulgaria it was broadcasting on Nova TV in the period 2005-2018. Rumen Lukanov was host and producer through his company 'BlueBox Entertainment'. If he brings it back, he can also be a host again. But only without Zhasmina Toshkova, who was a co-host in the show, because visually she is not as the same woman as before (nowadays, nobody will recognize her, because of the many plastic surgeries made through the years). Nowadays the most episodes of 'Deal or No Deal' (in Bulgarian - "Сделка или не"/"Sdelka ili ne") can be watched on YouTube, Vbox7, Dailymotion and etc.

I enjoyed watching it when it aired in the states, though looking back on it I think I watched it for the mysteriousness that shrouded the banker, and to see if anyone would finally win a million. If I recall correctly they had a long drought without a million dollar winner that they sort of forced a win by adding another million dollar case for each contestant that lost. I think it was called the Million Dollar Mission or something like that. After rewatching an episode last year, I became bored real quick. Perhaps I'm biased towards WWTBAM, but Deal or No Deal lacks viewer participation. It's a luck-based game versus a knowledge-based game. And the music simply doesn't compare. That's not to say it's a terrible show, but it's just not engaging enough for me. At least there's tension each time a case is chosen. I think WWTBAM has me spoiled.

The core game is interesting, but it does get repetitive after a while. I think the US version had two things going for it: a great host in Howie Mandel and an outstanding soundtrack. I enjoyed watching it immensely in the early years when there was more focus on the game itself. In the later years, they pulled a lot of stunts and focused more heavily on contestants’ sob stories and the magic began to wane.
It doesn’t have the staying power of Millionaire, but it is one of the better game shows of the last 20 years or so.

A game show community I was part of was watching Australian DonD and the Dutch National Lottery version, as well as playing the game for fun, before the US version premiered.

I really like Deal or No Deal, and considering it's my second favourite gameshow, beside WWTBAM
You need a lot of luck if you want to win big money, because you don't know what's inside the case, and when the offer went big, it's a tough decision whether you want to accept the offer or risk it
I really hope HTV (Vietnam's TV Station) would bring back this show, because our version has been axed in 2017, and hopefully if they bring the show back, i'd love to see they have a new set and new money board (considering we have look at the same money board for around 7 years)

Honestly, I think the 2018 format was perfect. Classic and modern at the same time (A bit like the UK Millionaire revival)!
I know the U.S. came up with several multi-million-dollar game show formats like The Wall (a format I genuinely like!), but... I don't think there is much need for making Deal or no Deal even more spectacular. It's such a simple format, why not keep it simple? Or as an alternative, there's the Dutch format they could've adapted! They play for 5 million euros, determine the player among 500 people... that's dramatic and exciting, but not as - as I imagine this revival - confusing.
I'm interested in seeing how that will work out, but... so far, it's a "NO DEAL" from me! 🤷♂️
