Tonight (Easter-Sunday) and Tomorrow (Easter-Monday) another twist gets added to Wer Wird Millionär? Since its easter and people most likely search and collect easter-eggs.. Well theyre now part of the game! Easter-Sunday:
Before the game starts, the contestant needs to select one of the golden eggs available next to the podium. That easter-egg is a 5th lifeline / bonus! The content of the egg stays hidden until a certain point in the game. This point is defined by the contestant! it works exactly as the international versions which have contestant pre-defined 2nd-safetynets. Before the start of the game, you chose where you'll receive and get to use the easter-egg. If you get there, you get the contents of the egg available. (See also the golden-egg lifeline icon) The concept of picking a bonus has been done before on Christmas-Specials. Sometimes it got opened when winning the first safetynet, sometimes instantly before the game Inside these gifts were for example - A Wildcard Lifeline (basically reusing one of the previously used lifeline) - Free-Choice (you can use any lifeline, except 50:50, twice on the same question) - Additional Safetynet (you have to define your 2nd/3rd safetynet when the gift was opened) I wonder if the easter-eggs will differ from that a lot. Here's an image where they teased the Free-Choice inside the easter-egg And then there's Easter-Monday! Forget the concept of the random easter-eggs! In Mondays episode, Jauch will be the easter-egg himself! Contestants get to ask him via the ASK-THE-HOST Lifeline! Thats a premiere here! Very exciting times! Tonight (Sunday) Jauch made history!
Out of nowhere, Jauch gifted a WILDCARD a "Ask One Of The Audience" person in the audience to be a contestant on tomorrows episode!
How did that happen? There is this guy in the audience along with his wife. He got picked by the first contestant as lifeline for "Ask One Of The Audience" in the risk format. He got it right, had such positive vibes and could explain it perfectly. So he won 500€ there.
Then a different contestant picked that same lifeline. This guy already stood up once more, Jauch instantly looking at him once again, cuz he had that positivity and confidence. The woman decided to pick someone else.
When the answer was logged in, Jauch picked his interviewing mic and went up the stairs and asked the guy. He gave the same answer with his funny, positive and confident vibes. Gave the exact explanation.
Then Jauch asked "Why did you never apply for this show?" And the wife interrupted "I tried to apply him already 3 times" But he was never picked. So Jauch said "Since Easter is the festival of ressurection we'll celebrate that with you just 1 day later. You'll be sitting down there tomorrow night as Fastest-Finger-Contestant!"
So there will be exceptional 9 contestants of the regular 8 contestants in a 3hours long show.

Tonight, a total of 4 different Easter-Eggs was available 1st Easter-Egg: Free-Choice(-Joker): Use an additional Ask The Audience, Ask One Of The Audience, Phone A Friend or 50:50. (You cant combine 2x 50:50 on the same question) => Power-Paplu 2nd Easter-Egg: Ask your on-stage companion! (If you dont bring one: Ask one of the other Fastest-Finger-Contestants) => Ask-A-Friend / Plus-One 3rd Easter-Egg: One Incorrect Answer gets removed (Not combineable with 50:50) => matches Double Dip on the second answer: you get a 1 out of 3 chance of getting it right) 4th Easter-Egg: "Ask One Of The Audience" So no matter if you played Classic or Risk Format, you'll have at least of them available And close to the end of the show - Jauch received a new nest of easter-eggs along with a card for tomorrow it reads (translated) "Dear Günther Jauch For almost 24 yars you've tried to get contestants to use a lifeline And now its your turn! For the first time in the history of WWM and ONLY during tomorrows Easter-Show, every contestant who makes it into the Hot Seat gets the same lifeline inside his/her golden egg: THE GÜNTHER JAUCH LIFELINE This means that the contestant can discuss the answer with YOU. Toi Toi Toi and have fun while learning!" Your directors/staff" Opinions on these easter-eggs and the surprises?

As I say sometimes, you don't change a winning format. The thing with the German production is that they always manage to perpetuate the format with either a few adjustments or a few little helpers that appear for a while or during a game. But they don't change format unlike other countries. They have great ideas German production haha
As you said well, Jauch made the history not only of WWM but of WWTBAM. It is the oldest to currently present the WWTBAM game. I would still like to congratulate him for his exceptional career that he has held for 24 years .

And yes the format has never touched and the podium in the center as well. When we switched from the Dutch Version to our own software... they had to tape the contestant screen. Cuz its projecting twice the same host feed. Since then this screen is taped! (clearly visible here) (Another easter-egg from yesterdays show...) The host screen is still the same one. Only little things around the podium, the glass floor, the studio and the visual graphics got a modernisation over time. Since summer 2022, the set is now full LED. Even the Austrian Counter-part "Die Millionenshow" has been using the set for 22 years, where Armin hosts it for 20 years! Here's a look of our modernized recorded before a celeb special autumn 2022. The video entrance door (shown at the start of the video) is still our best achievement KEKW. So modern xDD

Interesting stuff, and also interesting that it is going down the UK 2018 route, as well as being the first country outside of India to use the Power Paplu. Interesting stuff!

Very cool TruelyMostWanted for posting about this. I enjoy seeing how various versions of the show are unique in their own ways. I like the novelty of the idea for special shows. I can see it would fit for other seasonal occasions similarly, as you say with Christmas presents. The centre of the studio appears neatly decorated, with foliage and flowers (and the Easter bunny) a nice touch. It's clever how the eggs appear to be spray painted polystyrene, while still appearing realistic as Easter eggs.
How one of the audience members got to play Fastest Finger must've been quite the moment for them, even if not getting to the hot seat. For 9 contestants instead of 8, that'd be curious if they needed to fit a temporary FFF podium. Or maybe it's 9 usually and just 8 since one contestant had already played? (If they carry over to the next show.)
Overall for the special rules, my only reservation is it might become a little "too gimmicky" if applied commonly to the regular episodes of Millionaire. So I think anything like this is best reserved for special episodes only, to add an extra element of gameplay themed to what's being celebrated. That way these can be looked forward to as being a bit different than usual, while not diverging too far from the core WWTBAM style. Just my opinion there of course.
It'll be interesting to see whether other iterations around the world might someday follow suit, or do something similar.

So modern xDD Yes I had seen that they had kept the LWM software after they relocated to Cologne in 2000 and that until recently I think, it's the same for the computers for FFF (they kept those or have they changed too?) Regarding the lozenges below, I don't know why but it reminds me of the replica that wildfilmsshorts2000 made almost 5 years ago, maybe I'm wrong, but it looks good. Anyway, they did well to change software, despite the little things to review. Knowing all the same that the model of the computer has never been changed in 23 years soon (the same for the set haha)

All in all, this is pretty nice. The Germans are pretty good when it comes to one-off gimmicks like this. Though I must say the regular format is pretty stale by now. Maybe it's time for the UK revival format instead of Risk?
