I think that Australia is the only country where Hot Seat format has gone so far,and Ithink that it is also the only country where is it still running.Everywhere else in the world where it was launched (including Greece) it never managed to gain viewer's attention and it was shortly abandoned in favor of the classic format.Does it still get good ratings in Australia?Aren't the people there missing the classic format?

In terms of ratings.. well it seems to be the case. Else they would have gotten rid of it. But other than that.. They had some classic primetime specials 2 years ago basically the Hot Seat Set was used, but with upgraded components: opening, graphics, classic rules and music

Quite the milestone for 2,500 shows. It makes me wonder whether this could even be a record for any version of WWTBAM within a given country.
I've always thought Eddie is the ideal host for the Hot Seat format, and I think he's the reason the spin-off has been so popular in Australia. He has a certain charismatic style which can be serious when needing to be, but also able to portray a more light-hearted and fast-paced role. He has friendly interactions with the contestants, which fits the whole Millionaire Hot Seat vibe.
It also makes me wonder whether the odds of winning the jackpot are lower, due to the "conveyor belt" approach for contestant turns. Since there's no guarantee if passing on a question, one might not make it back around to play. I think it's quite remarkable there have been 2 who've won the million, given the amount of jeopardy involved and also battling against the clock. Of course, there is the thought how there's more luck involved, since it's possible to win without answering all the questions. That's what makes the Hot Seat format unique really, and I quite like how all contestants take part within a given episode. As opposed to just playing Fastest Finger and getting no further. I'm glad to hear the show is still continuing, and it's quite the stat for over $60 Million being given away as total prize money. Also cool the classic version did return for those special episodes.

Hot Seat format is preetty unfair for me,since there is a chance that one person answers correctly 10 questions and leaves empty handed after one wrong answer,as there is no walk-away option, and then another person that has answered only one or two questions during the whole game wins the big money.I think that it is the main reason why Hot seat format wasn't quite liked in the most countries.

After in itself the concept of Millionaire Hot Seat is a mix between WWTBAM and the Weakest Link. My point of view on this game, bah before I think it was zero, forgive me a little. In the end, the more the years pass, the more I find that it is a concept.
- From a lucrative point of view, the production will not waste money all the time, they will give it to the winner of the episode (if he deserves it in relation to the questions he answered)
- From an aesthetic point of view, the lights are unique, there have been changes before, in the first seasons it was green, purple, red lights. And since 2015, it's turquoise blue, yellow, red lights and it ends on fire haha.
- From a graphic point of view, I admit that the graphics at the beginning were not very top notch. But when they changed in 2015, there it was very top top. And those of the Portuguese version of 2020 are great.
- From a musical point of view, I really like these songs (unlike rave format music). It makes me think as if you're calm at ease, but don't forget that you have a time, don't forget that your goal is to win the million, and that at any time you can kick you out haha
Concerning the international versions, well I find that there is a country which accepted rather well and that concept could work: it is Portugal. For a decade, they did 4 seasons (2010, 2010-2011, 2015 and 2020), especially since it was the first country to adopt the Australian format. After for the rest, I admit that it is hard to conceive the Australian idea on full of country. I admit that Hungary could have made a few more episodes on this type of format. Here is my opinion on this spin-off which is still popular and this is my last word ;-)

I dislike the Hot Seat format, but I’ve always found the Australian WWTBAM production to be top notch and Eddie to be a great host. Congrats to everyone involved for achieving this milestone, and here’s to many more years ahead!

Regarding the 2 mentioned winners Here are full episodes for them (timestamps are set for the winning moment):
(2016 - Episode 127, This version did not have Fastest-Finger-First since it was introduced in 2017)
(2021 - during Covid, No Audience, With the Fastest-Finger-First Game of 15 Questions before the main-game)

Thanks for posting the #2500 episode!
I'll not spoil what happened for anyone who'd like to see the episode in full, but I thought it was cool for the special segments featuring in the show after advert breaks. The part starting at 13:27 was my favourite in particular, where various hosts of WWTBAM recorded a tribute to Eddie's Hot Seat hosting milestone. I was hoping Clarkson might appear too, but it mustn't have fitted in to record a clip. I like how it portrays the Millionaire family across the world, and each host is integral to making each show what it is. Then at 33:46 there's a montage of moments from the show over the past almost 15 years. From quick research I found from 2009-2016 the show did run in a 30 minute slot, then since 2017 it's been extended to 60 minutes (including ads). It does make me wonder how that change has affected viewing figures. Sometimes game shows are truncated to fit within condensed TV schedules, so it's quite interesting how this happened. However, I must admit I'm not a fan of how they break for the news before the final few minutes of the episode, as that must surely lose quite a bit of tension when watching in real time. Eddie certainly has done well making Hot Seat the very best it can be, even given the flaws in the format with it more like a lottery.

Wow!I wouldn't expect to see our host Grigoris Arnaoutoglou to send greetings to Australia. He is the only one who does not speak in English as he is not very fluent in foreign languages. I'm glad that our language has been heared on Australian Millionaire! The only disappointment is the fact that the tribute is restricted only to Hot Seat format. They have completely forgotten classic format, it seems that they have abandoned it for good.

Hot Seat Format is not my favourite tbh, but one of the most exciting ones for sure.
In Hungary, they aired a Hot Seat series, its names was "Felpörgetve". It wasn't even close to the Australian, the main point of the show was to invite celebrities and see how they fail the easiest questions. Sometimes we freaked out because of their stupidity. We hated it. And the host... He enjoyed that he was the host, but his style and the vibe he created... Wasn't even close to quiz shows' excitement.
Btw, thank you for sharing the 2500th show with us.

The Chilean version seemed to have a similar premise for its 2009 celebrity edition. And, to make it more insulting, they played the million lose cue when the total prize graphic appeared.
