I would have put this in the Millionaire Hosts section, but it's not about one host in particular.
On another message board, we're thinking about which Millionaire hosts have hosted the greatest number of years and the greatest number of episodes. Perhaps you all can help us compile that list.
We're pretty sure Eddie McGuire is at the top with over 2800 episodes spanning 24 years. Meredith Vieira is probably second with over 1500 episodes spanning 11 years.
How about the others? I'm guessing Gunther Jauch and Hubert Urbanski are up there?

Gotta be Günther Jauch by far. The German version has been going since 3 September 1999!

Gotta be Günther Jauch by far. The German version has been going since 3 September 1999! Assuming he's hosted every episode, he's over 1600 now, which means he's neck and neck with Meredith and will be overtaking her soon. Eddie's still got him beat on time and episodes because Australia's version premiered in April.

I think it'd be better to treat the number of years and the number of episodes separately. So Jauch and Eddie lead different statistics. In terms of episodes, Hot Seat is obviously in the lead! (Congratulations! ) WWM has been on air for 24 years, airs 1 to 2 times a week and Jauch has hosted about 1'600 episodes so far (I guess). Hot Seat has been on air for only 14 years, but airs 5 days a week and therefore outruns WWM easily with 2'500 episodes -- not to forget the classic versions of the show! However, if we talk about years, WWM is the record holder (I know, I might be a bit biased as I'm German myself ). Jauch has been the host since September 1999 without missing a single episode, getting replaced by a different host or WWM being taken off the air - that's 24 consecutive years. Australia's Millionaire started half a year earlier, but they had a break from 2007-2009 before they went from (Multi) Millionaire to Millionaire Hot Seat. Personally, I think the the general performance over years is better for comparison than the number of episodes. That's because some versions air weekly, others twice a week, others weekdays - sometimes that changes over time. That makes it a bit difficult to compare as the different airing schedules affect the number of episodes drastically regardless of the years passed. But that's just my personal opinion. But ultimately, I'm happy about every version that lasts long!

Just to add, I found some info that TruelyMostWanted posted in the comments section of the 2500th Millionaire Hot Seat video: (Link)As mentioned is how Hubert Urbański from Poland has been hosting since 1999, so it seems he's right up there too for one of the longest serving hosts. I do agree how it's a very different measure between total episodes compared to the overall timeframe, with how each run of WWTBAM isn't directly comparable. If accurate, the Wikipedia article here has a table listing international versions of the show, with those in green still currently airing.

Me from what I see, the oldest who present WWTBAM (it was the first arrivals) currently are: Robert Ten Brink from the Netherlands Australia's Eddie McGuire Günther Jauch from Germany Hubert Urbanski of Poland Amitabh Bachchan from India Now let's take the example otherwise, two of the 5 mentioned were replaced by another host, so it broke the longevity between two.
One of the three took a break that lasted 5 years before coming back "in force" with a new format.
One of the two has done the most episodes in the history of WWTBAM, and finally the last one is the one who has stayed on the show the longest. Jauch's longest break was only 4 months (between September 1999 and January 2000)

He literally applied (and got accepted) for a Guinness world record for most episodes of WWTBAM hosted by a single man, so there's a fun fact.

Guiness recognizes his 1600+ as a World Record for a male host. That seems to suggest that Meredith has him beat. That seems to ignore Eddie, probably because "Millionaire Hot Seat" is considered a different series.

It didn't aired on Television yet, it will on Thursday the comming week (ive got RTL+ where they make new episodes avaliable one week priorto TV Broadcast), Günther Jauch got the Guiness World Record for the most Seasons. It will probably be made public after it aired on Television. Image of the Certificate: ibb.co/gvRyV2G
