As ABC begins to announce its summer schedule, it's time to begin speculation as to whether Millionaire will return in some form this summer.
Regis made a comment today on Live! that saw a few minutes of "Minute to Win It" and wondered (in a delightfully sarcastic way) why ABC hadn't scheduled Millionaire on Sunday nights. It was then that it hit me that this might actually be on the table, or that it might have been at some point.
Do you think there's any sort of chance for a limited summer run? Especially in light of the premiere of such lackluster shows as "Minute to Win It"?

I tend to doubt it, after the Great Million Dollar Tragedy and all those format changes..

I and we, I think, are all hoping for that to happen, but I'd objectively say it won't happen. Maybe for year 15, if they keep those "anniversary" editions.

The good thing, at least for me, is that the show had a proper conclusion last summer. I'd be perfectly content if primetime Millionaire ended with that great Regis and Meredith moment.
Super Millionaire ended without closure, which is why it was so frustrating that Millionaire did not return for so long.

I really dislike ABC greatly. I don't think I've watched their channel since last August, but with their current lineup ("lackluster" would be a severe understatement), who can blame me?
Whenever they put Millionaire back on the air, their ratings go up. I think it could provide them with some success, just as long as they cut the BS, get a lot of good show into one hour, and then show it no more than once per week. Any more than that, and you run into the reason why Millionaire declined so rapidly in its original run.
