I cannot say anything further about this because of the confidentiality statement that I signed. This point stuck out at me. Confidentiality agreements are rarely without an expiration date. I was hired for a WWTBAM project in 2011 in which Sony Pictures Television and 2waytraffic were involved, and that agreement's confidentiality clause has long since expired. Respectfully, we have no way of verifying you are who you say you are. If you truly are Ramon Covalo, could you provide us with something to back up your statements?

Hello WWTBAM enthusiasts, my name is Ramon Covalo and I was commissioned by 2waytraffic to make music for WWTBAM in 2007 and later for HotSeat. It is great to read that you are so committed to all facets of WWTBAM. I'll first tell you that I also really like the music the Strachan's made for WWTBAM. And the fact that they made it in a week is almost inhuman! I don't compare myself with them. But you can probably imagine that I am still very happy that 2waytraffic asked me at the time (even though you may not appreciate my music). I cannot say anything further about this because of the confidentiality statement that I signed. I would like to respond to a few things you say. What strikes me is that some of you apparently don't know much about producing music and that's why I thought I would clarify something about this. What I read in your comments is that I would have made all my music with the computer. And that is absolutely correct. Long live the computer! I have listened to the Strachan's music long and repeatedly and I can tell you that they also used the computer. That is no secret and can also be read somewhere on the internet. Maybe a single instrument was recorded live, but the rest...all virtual instruments and composed/processed in a DAW (digital audio workstation). There are many virtual instruments on the market that can perfectly imitate a symphony orchestra. A layman, and sometimes also a professional, cannot hear the difference. I do wonder whether it is not a bit of an exaggeration to think that WWTBAM is not or less successful because of the use of my music. I think that's quite a strong assumption. That also makes my music way too important. Too overrated. Music is very important for TV and film, but the tension music I have made in particular is played so softly in the show (also applies to the Strachans' version) that most television viewers do not even realize that music is being played. Except for my tension music, the rest of the music is from the Strachan's and that makes WWTBAM clearly recognisable. And they should never change that. I really don't understand why some of you are so bothered by my tension music. It's really not completely different from the original. Then I could understand that it bothers you very much. The presenter often talks over it so much that I have to listen very carefully to hear whether it is my music or that of the Strachan's. Obviously I don't hope that my music will no longer be used, but I have also noticed that it is being used less. I am very curious why this is so. And of course I hope that some of you are not right and that 'The Failure of Ramon Colvado(?)' will soon be a fact. Maybe we should bet on it? For 1 million? Who is in? ps. Thank you Jayden for your comment about my name. I always find it annoying when names are spelled incorrectly. Not just mine. After all, it is a small effort to look it up in most cases. While obviosuly keeping in mind that like GSK said it is the internet and it is extremely hard to verify who is who but some of those comments intrigue me. I personally always liked the 07+ "rebrand" of the music (Espicially the original V1 UK and australia used before sony asked you to add the extra SFX). I have an interview archived somewhere and it was taken down the next day. As far as the "Music is the downfall" the entire rebrand in 2007 regardless was people were not taking as much risks which in term made for less exciting television. Then they followed the USA clock setup to try and bring back drama and impulse choices where it wasen't as "laid back". The music could have been argued for making the show less identifiable (as known by the main title theme that was scrapped from Covalo. I'd be interested to ask some questions about your compositions since I know what DAW you use but what synths/samples you used among other thing. Music is never the main thing but it's ever present and sets a tone. Really bad music will stand out but really great music will often go un-noticed (Countless films can be used as an example.) anyway I'm hoping this is really you Ramon Covalo and I'm surprised your account was registered in 2019. Have you just been lurking on this account for a few years to get an insight into the community regardless of who owns this account.

There is nothing wrong about Covalo's music, but original Strachan's music almost touched perfection and if you have something perfect you just don't change it regardless how much time has passed. If they would like to do some "renovation" on the concept they could just do some minor changes to studio decoration, grapics, logos or everything else in the visual aspect but they should never have altered the soundtracks.

What kind of evidence are you thinking about?

What kind of evidence are you thinking about? A photo of yourself, taken today, with your full name, your username, this website's address, and the current date written on a sign that you're holding is typically the standard on Reddit when guests and celebrities conduct Ask Me Anythings.

That's probably a little too excessive. Reddit is a much larger and significantly more influential platform.

Mmmm...too much hassle. Then don't believe it's me or think of another way. I may come back to it later.

It's too much hassle to take a photo of yourself, write your name, write the website's address, write your username, and write today's date? Reddit is a much larger and more influential platform, but I don't see this request as being excessive. Right now, there's no reason why anyone should believe you are who you say you are, especially considering that an imposter would find it to be "too much hassle". Of course... you also have a website. Would it be too much of a hassle to add a page to it that you can link to here? That would certainly be an easy way for us to verify you are who you say you are. Who else but Ramon Covalo could edit Ramon Covalo's website?

Perhaps it is much simpler to send me a message via my website. If you do that, I will send you a message back. Problem solved. www.tnc-music.com/contact

I tend to think this really is Ramon Covalo, guys. His initial comments suggest that he knows what he is talking about. His analysis about computer produced music is pretty spot on. And that he says his music is commissioned by 2WayTraffic is more specific than how the average imposter would formulate it.
If I may, I'd like to ask a question. Why did 2WayTraffic commission new background music? As I understood it, they were also considering commissioning an entirely new theme package for the show. In fact, your website used to have a video with a WWTBAM open and new music. Is that correct?
By the way, I think your music is used less these days because in a lot of countries Millionaire is returning out of nostalgia reasons. And the original music is most closely associated with the beginnings of the show. There is a 20-year nostalgia cycle in television. Popular shows from 20 years ago are sometimes brought back because people who grew up watching it are now dead smack in de middle of the commercially attractive demographic of 18-49 year olds.

It's right what you say. There was once a plan to replace all the music, but upon reflection, 2waytraffic realized that a large part of WWTBAM's power lies in the Strachans' music (the most recognizable parts). On my old website there was indeed a test for new intro music. For me it was an impossible task. Compare it with the request to replace/equal the song Yesterday by the Beatles, for example. The idea to replace all music had to do with the fact that 2waytraffic had taken over Celador at the time.

Shame to me (especially in Poland 2023 and Spain 2008 - Classic really isn't meant for the 12-question format. I also think that the soundtrack Ramon and Nick Magnus made made the show feel a bit more fast-paced, exciting and a upbeat (not that I don't like the Strachan soundtracks, they just feel a bit outdated since the late 2000s).

ray, you’ll have to indulge our skepticism. Anyone can pose as anyone on the Internet without some proof, but we’d love to chat with you if you’re legit. While we wait on further proof from you and//or the results of GSK’s email test, perhaps a history lesson specific to your experience with WWTBAM could help verify your identity. If you don’t mind sharing, how were you contacted/selected by the production to compose the new tracks for WWTBAM and what direction were you given?
