The title speaks by itself! Millionaire will come back in Italy in January 2024, BUT… a lot of things will change. First of all, the broadcast network. After 20 years on Mediaset’s Canale 5, the programme will be broadcasted on Cairo’s La7 channel, a private Italian TV channel. Secondary, the host. Gerry Scotti will no longer be the host of this brand new return, but the Italian singer & rapper Fedez (full name Federico Lucia), which is also judge of the Italian version of X Factor and as well the husband of the Italian designer and stylist Chiara Ferragni, has been selected as host. Third point, format, graphics and studio. No details have been announced yet (this thread will follow updates). All we know is that Fremantle Media will produce the show. First of all, I would never have thought that Canale 5 was going to part ways with one of the most cult game shows in Italy in 23 years (even if the last broadcast was on 5 November 2020 and it's going to be 3 years exactly)
Um I quickly found out about the channel in question which is La7 I just saw that it is a private channel since it belongs to a company called Cairo (as you mentioned in your post)
But whatever happens if it was on a public channel, I don't think he would keep the money tree! It would be heresy if the first question would start at 500 € and the first level would be worth 3.000 €, there will surely be a sub-subject.
On the other hand, the most surprising thing is the host: a rapper to host a suspense game like this. It's a strange idea, but was there a drop in audience during the last session on Canale 5 for another channel to call on a rapper who has around fifteen million followers on Instagram?
I don't know what Italian rappers are like but if it was one of the French rappers who were to present Qui veut gagner des millions?, it would be unthinkable and a bit of an absolute shame.
But anyway, hoping that we will be aware of every information regarding the relaunch of Chi vuol essere milionario?.

Major bump:Millionaire in Italy, announced with great fanfare, never denied by Urbano Cairo (La7) ended up on the bench due to budget issues. The historic title hosted by Gerry Scotti will return home, Mediaset will be able to decide when and how to propose it again on its networks. So there's a chance that COULD return in 2024 or, as well, in 2025 to Canale 5. We'll only have to wait the official sources, for now.

I wasn't too keen on La 7 hosting choice the rapper guy.
I also thought Gerry was going to host wheel of fortune? (la ruota della fortuna)

It's still surprising matt that this information concerning the show which is therefore bogus dates from last November and we waited until the end of March 2024, for us to say "the show remains on the original channel ". Strange all the same but we'll say it's better like that lol, it would still have been hot if the show was presented by an awkward guy. |

Major bump! Mediaset is working on relaunching Millionaire in Italy, between the end of 2024 and the start of 2025. Gerry Scotti declared it in a interview at the Italian TV magazine "TVBlog", regarding the upcoming return of Wheel of Fortune, tonight on Canale 5. Gerry says "there will be a major restyling of this programme", so, hopefully, Italy will join the Olga branding family! So.. a quick update!
Fremantle Media contacted me for the first casting call stage, which consists of answering 15 questions correctly, straight waway, without 4 possible answers. To pass this first stage, you need to reach the minimum criteria of 11 correct answers.
Unfortunately, I haven't passsed the audition, with 9 correct answers, but this will not let me down, because I can apply once again to the show, but next year.
