As all of us know, Celador(Later 2waytraffic) owned the format of Millionaire around the world. Except US(At least, until 2020), where The Walt Disney Company owned the right and produced the show. Since 2008, they have changed many things to the gameplay and to the look of the show itself. Some of them is "too wrong" with fans outside of US and people know about the format outside US.
For me, I picked 4 WORST changes to the show(IMO only).
Gameplay changes:
1: 2008 - They add the dreadful clock in. While it make the game faster to fit its half-hour time slot, it's make the game harder for contestant, especially on the last 5 questions. Furthermore, they have to be as fast as possible just to banking time for the Million Dollar Question(that would be a challenge under this format). It's also create more stress into contestant.
Later international format extended their time limit, and most eliminated time limit on Tier 3.
2: 2010 - Shuffle Format. Just the worst format I have ever seen. The question have random order, a cumulative bank, and contestant can skip a question? No, that's not how Millionaire work.
Visual changes:
1: 2010 - Followed by the introduction of the Shuffle format, major changes have been made that made the show isn't like how it used to be anymore.
Somehow they decided to remove the Hot Seat, just because contestant feeling comfortable sit on it. That's an iconic thing of WWTBAM! Another iconic elements got eliminated in Shuffle format, that's Strachan's music. It got replaced with Jeff Lippencott/ Mark T. Williams's music, that not really like WWTBAM. At all!
2: 2019 - Now they also get rid the hexagon-like graphics for that parallelogram shape graphic. Technically, in the last syndicated season, it's like an unlicensed Millionaire, even though it's a full official version.
That's my opinion. How about you guys? Did TWDC make terrible moves when they owned the show? What's the worst one?
