Hello everyone!
I've created a promotional video (or trailer, whatever) of my version of the quiz for the church I attend. English subtitles are available.
To be honest, it could have been better. I didn't have much time in my schedule to make it, I had problems with the recording, the timing of the actors, failed lighting, very different audio, etc; but in the style of my time management problem, I managed to get something decent out of it.
I filmed in two places. I used the church for scene 1 and scene 4 onwards, trying to make some spaces look like ‘a living room’, more or less haha. Scenes 2 and 3 I shot in the same place, a house that has a terrace as the last room and is very spacious. For the last scenes I really did something very basic.
My inspiration was mainly some commercials from the UK that I had seen before and especially from the US, some intros from those countries and effects that suited the promo. For the ‘you know the answer’ scene, I based it on the intro of the second edition of the video game in the US, that famous Regis Philbin pose that gives so much energy.
The logo was what I was really excited to do. I was inspired by the UK especially, more or less imitating the current one. I created it in Illustrator and tried to give it the 3D effect that I don't know how to achieve in other real 3D programs.
Anyway, for a long time without the contest, I think the love for this project is still intact and I know that very soon I will share with you some details and graphics I have created... and what remains to be done .
I have done most of this. Script writing (75%), camera, lighting, animation and editing, with help in recording from a close friend and for the script I versioned the questions given to me by the pastor of my church.
I leave here the references.
1. Host Entrance UK (2018) (0:00): just love the animation of the back screens. i think i will apply them for my live millionaire.
2. Logo Intro US (2001) (0:43): seeing here the logo and the transitions gave me ideas. the rest of the intro from the beginning gave me the idea to film parts of my city for the trailer, too bad I didn't have much time, but I wanted to do it.
3. Logo Intro UK (2001) (0:12): I wanted to put the shine on the ‘O’, but the Spanish word doesn't fit to leave this letter in the centre. still, I left the rays of light and the misty effect that I like so much.
4. Regis, PS1 Intro 2nd Edition (2000) (0:28): regis conveys confidence and that he is a challenger. this impressed me and I recorded it.
5. UK Promo (1998): when i saw this, i had the idea to leave a message on the promo. the people who participate are ordinary people. they are asking each other questions all the time, they just have no idea where to answer them.
6. UK Promo (2018) (0:36): I thought the scene walking towards the stage was so cool that I wanted to adapt it to my promo.
Anyway, the ideas came and went, some of them I had to think about too much and others I simply discarded.
I will be happy to share more information with you very soon. comments, questions, suggestions and opinions are welcome.
