Drinks giant teams up with Chris Tarrant and hit ITV show to give fans chance to get rich
As England's footballers attempt to hit the jackpot in South Africa, pubs will be giving fans of the beautiful game the chance to strike it rich.
Around 13,000 pubs and bars have signed up to take part in the Heineken UK Who Wants to be a Football Millionaire competition.
Football fans at participating venues will be given a scratchcard when they order either a pint of Foster’s, John Smith’s, Kronenbourg 1664 or Strongbow.
Each card features details of a hotline that customers need to call, if they then answer a football-related question correctly they will be put into a draw giving them the chance to take part in a football-themed version of the ITV show.
Chris Tarrant will ask the questions at the Elstree studio in September, giving one of the 10 finalists the chance to win £1m.
Finalists are guaranteed £1,000 and the gamecards – which are available now - will also give fans the chance to win a host of smaller prizes.
Mark Given, Heineken UK brands director, said: “Football Millionaire combines the unrivalled appeal of the greatest football event in the world with the highly popular quiz show that enjoys a massive following among British TV viewers.”
