Ask the Expert has been a great addition to the show since it debuted in Season 7. The show has seen excellent experts. Some of these include former $500,000 winners Ogi Ogas and Jeff Gross, $100,000 winner Tom Spencer, and of course Jeopardy legend Ken Jennings. However, in contrast, Season 8 has seen some pretty bad experts. Kate Snow, even though she is a reporter on Good Morning America: Weekend Edition, did a horrible job helping out contestants. She barely helped out at all. Paula Poundstone, a comedian, was funny, but was another terrible expert. Season 8 has had actors and comedians as experts, which leads to my question: why? What do they know? I think it's unfair to some contestants that they have actors and comedians as experts. Sometimes "Ask the Expert" is no help at all, and contestants need to rely on this lifeline more than ever, especially since the removal of Phone a Friend. What do you think?

I think that ATE is a good lifeline as long as you have PAF along with it. In PAF you knew what are your friends' weaknesses and... erm... strongnesses? The Polish version, which replaced PAF with ATA in season 9, had seen some really bad experts who never could help. Also, these experts would stay for 3 or 4 episodes (the show is aired on Sundays only), so we've only seen 4 experts in that season. Season 10 has seen, however, very good experts who were nearly always helpful.
