We open into the set, where Frank enters, accompanied by the applause of the crowd, and stands at the front of the set.

Frank: Hello everyone! Welcome to our first edition of Millions. Now as you probably know by now, this is NBC's answer to the new format for Millionaire. Only, here at Millions, we go easy on our contestants, so that THEY have a better chance at winning our top prize: ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

Crowd cheers

Frank: Alright, let's bring on our contestant this evening. People have auditioned in their hundreds of thousands, but he's been picked out of the lucky hat. Please welcome: Millionaire Ninetyfour!

More applause. millionaire94 walks into the studio and stands next to Frank.

Frank: Welcome to the show! Ready to play?

Frank: Okay, let's hit the chair!

Applause as Frank guides millionaire94 to a chair stationed in front of a podium. The lights in the studio resolve on the two.

Frank: Alright, so we have here Millionaire Ninetyfour in front of the podium tonight.



Frank: Undoubtedly, he has big plans ahead of him. So tell me, Millionaire, how much are you hoping to get from here tonight? How have you planned your strategies out? (You'll find there's a lot of strategy in this game!)

Frank: Alright.... now, who have you brought along with you in the audience tonight?

Frank: Well, they should come in handy later on. Hello over there!!

He waves; they wave back.

Frank: Alright, it's time for me to go over the rules. Now, if you'll look up on the monitor up there...



Frank: Eleven questions stand between you and the million dollar jackpot. To do that, you have to answer one question from those ten categories on the right. Now, the deck of categories has been shuffled, and the questions have been randomly assigned one of the dollar amounts from the money ladder. This means that you'll have no idea how much you'll win until you give me the correct answer to each question. It can be $500, or it can be $10,000, or even $250,000! The first question you choose can be the hardest question in the stack, or it can be the easiest. There's no true way of knowing, because it's all randomized! But one thing you should know is that the values are proportioned to the difficulty of the questions. So the most valuable question is the hardest, while the $500 question is the easiest. They all total up to $500,000, which goes into the Bank, and you can double it at the end to $1,000,000. Now, we want you to win as much money as you can, so we're giving you three Lives, and three Helplines - Jump, Switch, and Ask. I'll explain those more as we go along. Right - the contestant is on the studio, and introductions have been made. Are you ready to play?!

Frank: Then it's time to play MILLIONS!

The audience cheers as the lights descend on the stage, making the set somewhat darker than before.

Frank: Okay then, Millionaire. You'll be selecting from these ten categories: Britcoms; Beam Me Up!; NASCAR; Shipwrecks; Spelling Bee; Board Games; Who Shot JR?; On Broadway; Shows Long-Gone; At the Arcade. Now. Which one takes your fancy?
