Hi, likewise, I agree that this is no longer Chandra's fault - having looked through the PowerPoint, the lifeline graphics etc are his own. However, I still want to get in contact with the email he's given, except they are not responding, so to chandra1924, can you get that person to email me instead, or you could tell me their Regisfan.proboards or YouTube account name in PM. Either way, if we find out who's behind it, then I will change to yes.

Chandra: Tell him to register here. Or does he have a Youtube account like BL mentioned? I'm going to have to say no for now because of the outrage that is going on and that everyone else said no as well.
leimeisei: I agree. The kind of tone most posters in this topic used was uncalled for.
BL: You posted a link to the forums in one of your PPT videos, so the fact that many people come here just for the password to the Fan Games may link back to that. I'm not saying that it is your fault, as they are the ones who choose to join.

I don't really think that there's anything wrong with people coming here just for the Fan Games section. It's something that our site offers that other sites do not, and I'm really proud of some of the software that's come out of that part of our community.
If you step back and analyze the situation, the only material that was stolen from one of our members was material that had been posted in a part of the site that was never meant to be secure in the first place. It's probably safe to assume that just about anyone on the internet could have gotten their hands on those graphics at some point. Therefore, we shouldn't all be up in arms over the fact that some graphics have gotten loose. Nothing from the password-protected part of the site was released or used by anyone.
I might change the password because of all this, but let it be known that, in reality, the system did not fail.
Chandra is not the villain that lots of people here were quick to declare him to be. Nor, however, is he completely innocent. His faking his age to get into the site technically violates the Proboards policy, so it's questionable about him being here in the first place. However, the way some members treated him in the first few pages of this thread was truly sad, and I expect more from my site members - this has always been a very friendly place. Let's keep it that way, no matter what happens on the boards.

I would first like to apologize to chandra1924 for any unnecessary comments I made towards you. I overreacted, and got a bit more animated than I should have.
chandra1924, I am prepared to revert my "no" if you contribute appropriately for say, 2 weeks. Once again, I'd like to apologize for my words and actions.

After reading this, I just wanted to get all of this off of my chest. (not to get too involved with it) I must say, I have read all five pages from top to bottom, this is an argument that I will agree with all of our site members. For the time being, it is a no from me. If you contribute more to our community then I will be giving a yes in the near future. Now, I completely agree with Regisfan and leimeisei, the behavior of the members was highly inappropriate. The goal of this is to "Benefit the good, prevent the bad." (A quote I just made up!  In other words, help the people with good intentions, keep the people with bad intentions away. I think that it was great that plane852 responded with an apology, this community has normally been a good community with good intentions, but this instance, we failed to do that. Again, I am not trying to get too involved with it, but I just had to get this all off of my chest. Thank you, -Reidb1700 |

Well, there's been some updates regarding this situation, everybody.
bl5965 has been in contact with chandra regarding his "friend" and the stolen graphics. It has come to his attention that chandra's "friend" probably does not exist. I have personally seen all of the correspondence between bl5965 and chandra, and I can corroborate this suspicion.
After agreeing to send BL the email address of his "friend," Chandra instead sent BL his own email address and a fake email address. When Chandra did provide BL with a working email address, BL noticed that the name attached to the address was only a slightly modified version of Chandra's own name, with only two letters changed in the first name and the exact same last initial. Furthermore, BL got a PM from Chandra indicated that his "friend" had emailed BL a mere two minutes after the email from Chandra's "friend" was sent. Also, this "friend" claimed that some of the stolen graphics were obtained from Google Images, which clearly cannot be the case because BL's graphics are embedded in videos.
All of this evidence seems to indicate that Chandra was faking the identity of his "friend." No matter how you look at it, Chandra is guilty of stealing BL's work, and, seeing as the whole point of the Fan Games section is to prevent this kind of thing, I simply cannot allow Chandra to have the password. This is my final decision, and no amount of "yes" votes can reverse the situation. Chandra is not getting the password, as it seems he's not very trustworthy, or at least not mature enough, to be trusted with access to the work of other Fan Games creators.
If anyone has any issues with my decision, please feel free to PM me. Once again, I'd like to reiterate that I've seen all of the correspondence between BL and Chandra, and it's very clear to me that Chandra wasn't being honest in his dealings with BL.
Chandra, I'm not banning you from the site, so you're free to remain a part of the fan community. However, I'm sorry, but you won't be getting access to the Fan Games section.

Congrats to Regisfan and BL for clearing this thing up.
And Chandra, it is really clear that you owe all of us an apology, but a REAL apology.

I'm very sorry to hear this and I am supporting Regisfan's decision. That's the problem with lies, chandra, you need to create more lies to support them, and eventually you slip up somewhere.
I do not believe any more needs to be said, this thread should be closed.

Do NOT be rude to chandra. Yes, chandra did something VERY wrong and did something that is highly against our rules here, but NONE of you for ANY reason should be demanding ANYTHING from ANYBODY. Chandra does need to give a sincere apology to the group, I think, but none of you are in ANY place to demand anything. Do not demand an apology, politely ask for an apology, and do NOT demand him be banned. Regisfan has decided to not ban him and that will be final.
I'm locking this post.
Chandra, it would be appreciated if you did give a public apology, but not in this thread; thank you.

Finalanswer19 locked this thread, and I think that was a very good idea at this point. This conversation really is over.
However, I can reply to locked threads, so I have one final thing to say. There seems to be an instant reaction around here whenever somebody does something wrong. And that reaction usually (but not always) comes from the same members, who instantly demand that the wrongdoer pay miserably for what they've done. I'm tired of it. Yes, chandra did something wrong, but he's been dealt with. We don't need twenty more people posting about how wrong he was.
No, this does not apply to the people who were just voicing their support of my final decision or BL's detective work. This applies to the people who, as finalanswer19 said, immediately start demanding justice when something goes awry. Please use better judgment when it comes to sensitive issues.
