With a new season starting up, it's time for the weekly overviews to start up again. This week, we'll be taking a look at how the new format will play out. It should be interesting to see. Will the questions be a bit easier, or will they be at the same level of difficulty we've seen in the past? Will we finally have a top-prize winner? All will be revealed as the new season of Millionaire begins.

And, of course, I will be keeping track of prize money given away throughout the week. Check back here on Friday to see the total amount given away in the first week of Season 9.

We have reached the end of the first week of the new season, and it has been quite an interesting week. Now we all have an idea of how the new "shuffle" format works. In terms of winnings, it is a modest start to Season 9. Of course with a new format, players are still getting adjusted to how the game works and we have yet to see new strategies. Here's the breakdown for the week:

Week of 9/13/2010
Mon. $1,000
Tues. $5,800, $1,000
Wed. $19,300
Thurs. $1,000, $9,000
Fri. $14,050

And the total is: $51,050 given away for this week. I have to say that I'm loving Meredith's outfits. They seem to be more varied this week. I hope that continues throughout the season.
