I've been quite tolerant of the childish overreactions that have been occurring on this board as of late. In fact, I've been way more tolerant than I had any reason to be.
That ends now.
Every time someone suspicious pops up on the boards, certain members have the same knee-jerk reaction. That reaction, quite frankly, is to repeatedly make posts or comments in the Shout Box that "demand justice" and contain nasty comments directed toward whoever did something wrong.
I'm through with it. It's the same members every time, no matter how many times I make the "This is a friendly community" speech. So, it's time to take some action.
FrankT, I, as well as other members of the board, have expressed disappointment in the way you have treated members of this site who seemingly break the rules. Just going through the last three pages of the Shout Box as I write this post, I found the following messages (I added the bold typeface for emphasis):
And in this very thread:
FrankT, that is not how staff members on this site act. Unfortunately, it's not the first time you've acted like this, despite the fact that I've made posts calling you out on this type of behavior before. From this point forward, I am revoking your moderator status. Perhaps you will earn it back someday, but I'm not promising that. You've proven that you're too immature to be a representative of the staff of Millionaire Fans.
Millionaire94, you're guilty, too. You may not be a staff member, but you should know better than to act that way you did on this website. Let's take a look at some of your shouts from this afternoon:
I have raised your warning level to 50%, Millionaire94. If you continue to use this kind of behavior on the boards, your warning level will continue to go up. If it hits 100%, you will be banned.
As for kjablonski260, he has spammed up my forum with useless posts in an attempt to gain access to the Fan Games section. That's against the rules. He has also created multiple accounts, which is also against the rules. I'll give him a day or two to explain himself if he can, but then I'm banning him and deleting all of his posts.
The community is growing. With that growth will come many different types of people. The staff is perfectly capable of dealing with those individuals who are breaking the rules. We don't need everyone else chiming in and making those people feel like dirt.
Consider this the beginning of a zero tolerance policy on this matter.
On a more positive note, thank you to those members who tried to calm down our more hotheaded members throughout the day today, as well as to those who came to me instead of trying to handle the situation on their own. Thank you for helping this community to be a better place.
That ends now.
