John Carpenter would be the first player to win the Million-Dollar Prize.
He's also made history by being the only MD Winner to use a lifeline only to tell his dad he'd win the mill.

Here's an interesting question, do you think John would perform as well if he was asked to come back to the show again?

And did you know that in Spain a player used his phone-a-friend lifeline on the last question to ask his girlfriend if everything is OK with her and he didn't tell her the question? Of course, he has won the 50 million pesetas prize.

There was a special week of episodes called "Champions of Millionaire," in which the top winners up to that point of the show's run were invited back to play the game again (if they could win the Fastest Finger round). Carpenter got into the Hot Seat, and did very well, but he only won $250,000.

I'm not sure. This was pretty early in the U.S. show's run, if I remember correctly.

Yeah John's Million Dollar win was way back on November 19, 1999 (Friday), but he returned on the Champions edition sometime in 2000 (i forget what date), and won an additional $250,000. I bet John feels really good winning a grand total of $1,250,000. ;D

I bet John feels really good winning a grand total of $1,250,000. ;D Well, theoretically, he won $1,125,000... because half of his Champions edition running was donated to his personally chose charity, but yeah, he won that money! ;D
