He walked with $250,000 after not knowing the answer to the question. He thought it was one specific answer, but decided not to risk it. Turns out it was that one specific answer.
I don't have the question itself, so hopefully someone else can provide it.

gosh, such a close risk. couldn't blame him though, how tough it must be just to answer some 8-10 questions in a row without a lifeline... unbelievable.

The following is according to the wwtbambored, since the show has not aired in my town yet.
He actually walked with $250,000, not $500,000. The $500,000 question:
According to Chanel, the fragrance Chanel No. 5 recreates a scent that perfumer Ernest Beaux whiffed while traveling where? A. Inside the Arctic Circle B. On the Great Wall of China C. At the top of Machu Picchu D. In the Sahara Desert
He thought it *wasn't* A, because one probably could not smell anything in the bitter cold of the Arctic Circle. Turns out the answer was indeed A.

He actually walked with $250,000, not $500,000. Correct. Fixed my post; thanks.

I was honestly very surprised he got that far after using his lifelines so early. It's ironic how much better he did than Joann Chan.

I actually mentioned this in the shoutbox... the recurring pattern seen is that when Millionaire posts a video spoiler on Facebook/YouTube etc. they will seem to notice the contestants that go into Round 2, which is fine, exactly what they should be doing. But they wow the audience by telling them how far they got, even though they could go further, but chances are they do not. They mentioned that he got to $250,000 and I took thought that he probably would not answer the $500,000 question or get it wrong, so that was a well-rounded prediction. If someone in the future is to see the MDQ, then they'll announce they've gotten to $500,000.

Millionaire usually issues a press release whenever a contestant reaches the million dollar question, so we'll probably know well ahead of time if someone is going to climb to the top of the money ladder.

Oh, that's cool! I'm interested in how long the time difference is from the taping of one episode and then time it airs, it should be at least 6-10 weeks I believe.

I'm fairly certain that they stopped taping new episodes last November, actually. Near the end of the season, there's a huge gap between when the episodes were taped and when they air.
