Seems what Meredith after 11 seasons has decided to leave millionaire to free up more time for other projects. Millionaire has yet to renew for another season yet but I think it will happen when the producers find a new host. buzzerblog.com/2013/01/meredith-leave-millionaire/

Well, I honestly think that's the end of the show. There's been great guest hosts, but I think her leaving will probably be the end of it.

After thinking about it. You're probably right. It's been a good 14 seasons of Millionaire.

Still, wouldn't be too surprised to see Millionaire give another go with someone else... I can't say that this instance would be like "Sajak and/or White leaving Wheel, series to be cancelled" because Millionaire isn't doing nearly as well but boy it sure seems like it.

Wow, that's incredibly sad news. Meredith is a fantastic host and really suits the daytime format so very well. Not to mention she's so sweet in person. The show won't be the same without her.
I can't even imagine who they'd get to replace her at this point. If it's a solid choice, it could reinvigorate the show. But seeing the guest hosts that have rolled in throughout the years, I don't have much hope of them finding a good replacement. This will be a huge challenge for the producers, as their decision will either reinvent the show or cause it to go down in flames.

Well, I knew this was gonna happen eventually, but not this soon. All the best to her and her future projects.
On that note, if the show were to keep going, who do you guys think would be good for new host?
First name that comes to mind, and I've seen his name tossed around elsewhere: Tom Bergeron.
...He did guest host at one point, right?
It would also be nice to see Regis back.

I hate to say it, but it seems like the only way to keep good numbers on the board nowadays is to hire a doofus who uses immature sexual innuendos and is "comedic" instead of a genuine, charming, loving host like in decades past. Pretty disappointing huh.
I'm surprised not many thought of Regis. I'm not saying he's the first pick for the show, but he did retire from Live! Not sure what he's doing now, and I'm not sure if he retired from TV overall, but boy, Regis was sure excited to host the 10th Anniversary. I really don't know, would Regis want to host Millionaire again, and most importantly, want to host Millionaire in this format? Oh and here's another question, would the show take another format change? Do you think the producers would be willing to bring back, at least somewhat, the classic format if it meant having Regis on the show again? Or is it smarter to say, oh well, let's find ourselves another host that can bring fire back into Millionaire.
I wouldn't be too surprised if Regis was floating around the heads of the Millionaire team right now. But I don't know

This is very sad news for me to hear. I really enjoyed her and since I was able to start watching around the 2009 era, I've truly enjoyed watching her daily on Millionaire. I've seen where she first started and she wasn't that great in my opinion, but as she kept going, the seasons kept getting better and better. Personally, if Millionaire didn't die, I'd actually like to see it go back to the classic format. I really miss it and I think it still has potential. I'd even like it to go back to the original theme cues as well. The shuffle format is pretty cool, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original game at all in my opinion.
I'm also a little offended by what 'HomerJay' had to say about Regis's age. No matter how old Regis is, he's still the man.

There is simply no one better for this show. That being said, he left "Live!" because of a contract dispute with Disney, so I doubt he'd want to return to the Disney fold with another syndicated series. That being said, he has always shown extreme fondness for "Millionaire," so you never know. I doubt it will happen, despite the fact that Regis would definitely be able to draw in the eyeballs that the show so desperately needs right now.

My first - and probably only - choice would be Tom Bergeron. He's always made me laugh, and I loved his time guest hosting. Although considering he already has AFV and Dancing, it's unlikely ABC would pen him for this one too.
Regis did not adapt well to the clock format, and I don't think he would adapt well to the Super Mix format.

Wow, I just got up and this announcement was like a punch in the face. Meredith was kind of the reason why I started loving Millionaire. The first non-German-speaking episode of the franchise I watched was a syndicated US episode. I'm really going to miss her, but I wish her all the best for her future endeavors. Maybe she'll stop by the set some time or guest host for a week. I doubt Regis'll do it. He's clearly not a fan of Super Mix and taping five episodes a day is tough. The man's 81 years old. Don't get me wrong, he'd certainly be the best pick but I really don't see it happening. Tom Bergeron would be a good replacement for sure, although, like GSK said, he already has a couple of other gigs. He's be my favorite to do Millionaire, but again, not sure if it's very likely. I'm not sure if I'd like Cat Deeley do it. I only saw the video Mech uploaded on Youtube. There, I didn't think she was bad, but hearing her voice all the time...I dunno. Given that Feud is incredibly popular despite offering much less money, I can imagine that they might call it quits, end it with dignity. If that happened, though, the only English-speaking versions left would be Hotseat and the UK specials. Fantastic...

Maybe they will try to find a good substitute host (I don't really know who, I'm French so I don't know every american tv hosts) but it will not work and Millionaire will end (only on syndication, I hope!).
