Guess what? Ratings hit! This means we may have more Jeremy Clarkson Millionaire. I hope they use the more dramatic 2008 US clock music, but declocked, as the 1998 music is only suitable for a 20th anniversary, and they need better editors and graphics. The graphics, especially the money tree, look quarter-hearted. I live in the US, but I'd prefer this over the syndicated Millionaire any day.

The graphics, especially the money tree, look quarter-hearted. I live in the US, but I'd prefer this over the syndicated Millionaire any day. This is definitely an opportunity. I have seen a lot of people call for a permanent series. It looks like the show has new life. I also am in the U.S., but I am a Millionaire purist. In other words, syndicated alienates me as they have completely strayed away from Millionaire and just used the same name for something new. Actually, I'm hoping they use the 1998 music. I'm not sure what is wrong with it. That's what I loved about Millionaire is that it was Millionaire, and despite being in the U.S., I really was waiting on pins and needles for every Millionaire episode this month. We can't just leave it at that. Also, with the ratings in the U.K. being good and considering cancelled shows have been revived in recent years, please, please, please all I want is a 20th Anniversary Primetime special with Regis in 2019. I would try so hard and would want so badly to get into that hot seat that none of you have any idea just what it would mean to me. I'm brushing up and studying a lot of general knowledge in preparation should they do such a thing. I could go for original Millionaire or even 2009 clocked Millionaire. I just want Primetime Millionaire in August 2019 with Regis. Here's ITV's chance to bring it back. I'd like to see 10 contestants in lieu of six for fastest finger first, but if that's my biggest gripe, I'm okay with that. Hopefully we get more contestants like the last couple of episodes and not the string of £1,000 winners.

I like the 2008 music better, because IMO it's much more dramatic. And yes, US Millionaire needs a 20th anniversary with Regis. We need to call ABC.

I have listened to both the original and the clock music. The $500,000 question music is pretty neat, but it isn't as daunting as the original. I've listened to the $1,000,000 question music. It's not as intimidating as the original. Not in my opinion, at least.

Well the originals could be used when tension builds up. But if I were them, I wouldn't use the rave music.

Well the originals could be used when tension builds up. But if I were them, I wouldn't use the rave music. Do you mean the $100-$1,000 levels? This is just my opinion, but that music is a personal favorite of mine and just adds to the appeal of this beautiful, wonderful game. Jeremy Clarkson called the first five questions the what's your name, what's your favorite color questions, which is one of the many things he said that I loved. Millionaire is, by nature, a dramatic game. The music for the first five questions doesn't change that. In fact, things escalate if someone takes time on one of the first five and/or uses a lifeline.

We will have to agree to disagree, then.
Maybe Millionaire can't be 100 percent like the 1998 original, and I get that, but I believe Millionaire must be kept intact for as much as possible. I didn't really care for reducing the fastest finger contestants from 10 to six, and I didn't agree with getting rid of the checks, but if those are my biggest gripes, the 20th Anniversary was spectacular since the show has no control over how the contestants perform.

Technically, checks were outdated.

Technically, checks were outdated. Is that a rule? I still use checks. I still write them and still receive checks as a form of payment. Checks were a quirk of Millionaire and seeing them being showcased throughout a run. Chris was fantastic at telling contestants to have a look at this check, and 'But we don't want to give you that!' The tearing of checks were awesome as well. Monta Mino ripped checks and added to the suspense. The way Chris just tore up checks, be it Steve Devlin, Tony Emans, Roger Walker, that was just a sight to behold that made Chris so legendary. Can you imagine sitting in the hot seat with a check in your hand with a big amount and Chris asks for the check back because you just won an even bigger amount? It's little things like that. That's one of many reasons why I'm an absolute Millionaire fanboy.

In the 20th anniversary revival Jeremy Clarkson often times mentions the music cues and acts like he can hear the music. Do they play the music live in real time during UK tapings?

Haven’t been to a UK taping, but in he U.S. they don’t play the cues. Just steady heartbeat music. Seems like Jeremy hears the actual cues.

Are you talking about syndicated that they don't play the music? I'm not sure why in its regular format, it wouldn't be played in real time. From what I read on Kevin Olmstead, it seems like it was played in real time when he was on.
