Thank you for re-creating the graphics GSK ! I was digging around the internet to locate a higher resolution of the new season logo of "Millionaire". Shown below:

Lame. This look will be the franchise killer. You call the new look lame? I think it looks great.

I really don't like the new graphics. Then again, a couple of colored boxes, no matter how much I or anybody else hates them, don't make or break the show.

Maybe I just need to watch a little bit more? I saw the first episode of the season today, and the graphics do feel like a downgrade. I suppose it has to do with the fact that Millionaire lost its signature hexagon shape it always had with its graphics, as well as Lifeline buttons, rather than lifeline blocks.
While they do look better in motion, they feel kinda stale. It reminds me of the graphics TV sitcoms or cartoons use whenever they wanted to parody Millionaire. And it does sound a little harsh when I say that but, the hexagons weren't broken, or outdated. They seemed to adapt quite well to any style change US (or even UK) Millionaire would bring. So why would they replace with an entirely new shape, I would not know.

Wow, they just look... terrible. Absolutely terrible. Especially in motion. There's basically no redeeming aspects I can think of.
Every thing about it screams cheap and sad. I feel like I can make better looking parallelograms in PowerPoint.

Graphics wise, I'm a fan of everything that isn't a parallelogram. I like the backgrounds, especially the starburst background, I like the dollar-amount-won graphics, and so far, I like the new lighting patterns. The question graphics and money tree look like they were created in PowerPoint, as others have said. What's especially disappointing is that if they kept the old hexagons, i think they'd look a-maz-ing on these new backgrounds.

With the hot seat and old music cues gone, this change is the least of my worries. Although most of the time I frown upon changes to a show, I feel that this change is minimal. The graphics are not what entices everyone, it is the ability to see someone every day go for a million dollars. As long as they don't change that, I am still going to watch and support the show so long as it is still intellectual and entails a great host. They do not look that bad anyway.

I like the star field on the screen and I like the new lighting patterns. The lights seem smoother when they go down. The new question graphics could be worse, but I didn't care for the shape of them when the whole question was on the screen without the answer choices. I prefer the older lifeline graphics. The new logo looks good, much better in motion on the show but Millionaire needs to be centered. Audience seemed a little more upbeat the first episode. I thought they were possibly getting rid of the bank, but it's still there. Eh...that's okay. I have seen others saying when the money value drops into place it looks good, and I agree. I am happy the show is still on the air and will continue to watch. I enjoyed the first episode of this season, but much preferred the 20th anniversary UK revival. Hopefully I will get use to the new graphics, and I will continue to hope for a 20th anniversary special where it all reverts back to classic Millionaire. Also, I didn't hear the horn at the end of the show I like the new opening sequence better.

Also, I didn't hear the horn at the end of the show That's because... ...the player's game ended at the end of the show. You won't hear a horn after Thousandaire either.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I think the graphics are really poor. Only cheapens up the show that was already headed down the drain in the first place. When I fell in love with the show, I fell in love with the original. If today's Millionaire was what premiered back in the 90's, I wouldn't have been a fan.

Seriously. It makes it seem like they let the summer intern just run wild for half an hour and then used whatever he had finished by the end of that time. Whoever thought black on dark-blue was a good idea for the contestants' name plates needs to be fired and never get another job in graphics design ever again.
This show is only Millionaire in name at this point. None of what originally made the show so great - the tension, the atmosphere, the carefully crafted design, visually and acoustically - remains today. It's turned into another generic run-of-the-mill multiple choice quiz show that happens to have Ask The Audience as a lifeline.

When I fell in love with the show, I fell in love with the original. If today's Millionaire was what premiered back in the 90's, I wouldn't have been a fan. I second this. It was their signature, it was their identity. It stood out on TV because it was so simple, but not over-simplified. That, and the music. For a show that came out in 1999, it had everything right the first time. The updates to everything was okay at best, but this new season's move for parallelograms is honestly a total downgrade.
Also, those lifeline indicators...

The graphics aren’t terrible when considered in isolation, they just fail to hold up when you compare them to past efforts. See the Clock era for an amazing update to the classic graphics.
At the very least, the intro sequence is an improvement over its predecessor!
I know I say this every year, but it will never truly feel like WWTBAM again until they bring back the classic themes in some form. To me, the music is even more important than the visuals.

The font changed as well, from Conduit ITC to a combination of Arial and Eurostile. The graphics from hexagon to parallelogram really downgraded this, so I change my rating to between 5.75-6.
