Man, looking at the UK's Millionaire revival while comparing it to this... thing.
The brits has been lucky, since they had the 20th Anniversary series, and a full series coming in 2019 while Jeremy's hosting.
But for the americans, they have a very poor series than their british counterpart, the new graphics package, the shuffle music since 2010, etc.
I can't stand why they had to make this change, I mean, they're celebrating their 100 million dollars special, I get that.
But changing the whole graphics package? Like, why? The past current graphics are fine, heck, they look just good as their british ones.
Somehow some guy said: "Screw it, change it up for the worse!". And I thought the whole show is going to be downhill from there.
If they ain't gonna change for the better for the celebration of their 20th anniversary.
God, forbid us please.

It took me a while for the graphics to grow on me. At first, I hated them. However when looking at them for a few episodes, it bothered me less and less. The original graphics have been around for 20 years now. The best versions of them IMO are the US clock and international ones. I was never a fan of the Shuffle graphics style. The animations for the new set are fantastic, and the font change doesn't bother me at all. I think the point that we should be understanding is that it should be easy to read. Sure, the font that was used was unique, but it wasn't the easiest to read. Also, designs for logos and basically anything else in the past few years, keep it simple...very simple.

I remember years ago when Meredith said that the hot seat didn't serve the purpose of making the contestants feel uneasy while on set anymore. I feel this way with the podium now.

I'm going to be real short and simple with Millionaire's graphics for season 17 of US WWTBAM
I utterly despise the graphics.
Now you (the viewer) might ask, "Why?"
Well let me tell you.
US WWTBAM kept the same hexagonial grahpics for 16 seasons, with minor changes. Why suddently change them for parallelograms?
Another reason why I don't like the graphics is because of the animation. The final answer and correct answer reveal don't have any flair in them anymore. The lifeline animations just flip around. Basically, the animation just lost their flair.
They also stopped putting the current lifeline-in-use in the center anymore.
While I do like the "futuristic" theme, the graphics, in my opinion, aren't really that great.
What do you think?

I kept playing that back trying to see if the logo is bending as it flies to the left. Is it possible that it's off centered on purpose because it's meant to fly off like that? |

I'm not entirely sure, as well. However, when I played the video in 0.25 speed multiple times, I could indeed discover that the logo was partially unfinished; if we take a closer look, the green signs on the logo next to the question marks are still being animated while the logo is fading away. So I believe that this indeed was a purposeful design for the logo, but I can't exactly figure out the meaning behind the misplacement of the word "MILLIONAIRE", either...  |
