If there's one thing that really bothers me more than anything with the graphics change, it's how they show the remaining lifelines left. Without seeing any sort of marker over the lifeline, the color of the shape doesn't mean people will automatically know that it's been used if they are just tuning in. They might even think it's the other way around.
I don't really mind the design haul overall, but I think it DEFINITELY could've been better than what they went with.

You got that right, RegisFan. Music is pivotal for any show, even when you're not looking at the TV, you'll know an iconic theme when you hear it, and can know what it belongs to. Millionaire with its upbeat horns and synths are a classic. No offense to Jeff Lippencott and Mark T. Williams, but the new cues just doesn't hold up to what we originally had. They're okay at best.
And I second that; the intro is marvelous!

Can we see a blank version of the new question graphic? I know why you want it, and it's not going to happen. Besides, these are extremely easy to create in something like PowerPoint.

I will say this about the graphics though... they look VERY simple to create. I don't know if I'm going to make a HTML5 2018 edition based on these though... we'll see....

I threw together what I think the new graphics should have looked like... I'm OK with the parallelograms, it's just everything else looks like it's from MS Paint. I tried to clean it up a bit and make it look a bit more "Millionaire"-esque. I also tried the logo.

I'll be honest and side with FinalAnswer19 here. I'm just not a fan of parallelograms replacing the old graphics. The colors themselves to me are fine but this shape replace is awful. I'm pretty confident I will not be making an HTML5 controller based on this setup.

I like your thinking FinalAnswer I watched the video above and was quite impressed by what I saw. Yes, the parallelograms take something away from it but by and large it's quite appealing to me.

Why isn’t Millionaire in the logo centered? Is is poor graphic design or do they really want it to look like this?

Why isn’t Millionaire in the logo centered? Is is poor graphic design or do they really want it to look like this? It's because whoever was in charge of designing the logo didn't adjust the font to center the O. For what it's worth, it took me five minutes to accomplish in PowerPoint.

If you watch the show, the logo they're actually using does have the O centered. It's just the promotional logo that's not.

Hard to believe they give away so much money but the graphic designer can’t center the “Millionaire” logo. But yes, on the actual show it does look better. Would look so much better on the still logo if they would move it over!

There isn't a better commentary for the current "graphics" "package" than the number of people saying how they could make something equally as good or better than it in a relatively short amount of time and in software which isn't strictly speaking for graphic design. But let's look at it as a whole. First, some positives: -> The way the money tree and the questions appear is very pretty. Dynamic, flashy, fresh - I like it. -> The winnings straps look quite futuristic and, though could use with being a little tamed for lower values, also look pretty. -> Some of the backgrounds look quite nice. Now, for the negatives: -> The paralellograms. Nope. The classic Millionaire lozenge is old, yes. But seeing how many different designs of it we've had in years, it would not be a tough job to redesign it for something more futuristic. Not that it needed a refresh - the gold/blue variant leftover from Shuffle was fine. -> The lifelines. The only thing they could do worse there is replacing the audience pictogram with simply writing ATA. Trash. -> The colour schemes. Blue and black for contestant city is a bad choice. Green for Tier 3 is a terrible choice. The yellows, greens and reds for answer straps aren't the best hues either. The yellow looks like, pardon me, diarrhoea. The green and red are way saturated. -> The logo. Fml, terrible kerning. Design itself is alright, the animation of it in the intro sequence is fine, but the lettering is all over the place. Replacing pyramids with spheres in the logo is a very questionable choice, as is removing the question marks completely. And again, terrible kerning and horrible hanging of the logo to the right and/or not centering it on the O. It's laughable. -> The fonts. I don't quite know what the obsession with Eurostile seems to be these days, but I can ignore it. What I can't ignore is using Arial for questions, and then using fancier stuff in the logo. -> The ATA graph. I'll leave that one without a comment. -> The overall package. I'm sorry, but nothing makes sense in it. I agree with BuzzerBlog in that nothing is consistent anymore. Everything is just bits and pieces thrown in together and the whole thing feels like it's been made in maximum 3 hours - a pro graphic designer would require no longer than that to throw this exact "package" together. Sorry, USA, but you messed up this show big time. It's not even that there are things wrong with it. It's that fixing these things would require so little effort, it's almost offensive. And that's just the graphics package. I'm not even gonna talk about the lighting on the set or the soundtrack.
