I’m certain he has The Bachelor right now. That's my point. Double duty isn't an issue apparently, so why not get the guy who already has the chops?

Maybe ABC didn’t think of getting him. If they wanted a bigger name, Craig Ferguson was available...

Or Tom Bergeron. Considering he's been around forever, is ABC property, and has hosted Millionaire in the past (a week back in 2007).

Craig Ferguson hosting Millionaire is my dream casting.
Nothing against Jimmy, I just find Craig to be a superb host. He is a great conversationalist, like Regis.

I rarely post stuff on this forum anymore, but I just wanted to bring this up.
I think it’s quite irritating to see Jimmy making celebrities the stars of the show, if this season didn’t feature frontline workers, I wouldn’t be upset. But, this season should mostly be about the frontline workers instead of celebrities. If they were gonna make everything about celebrities, they shouldn’t have let civilians play at all. As much as I love the US reboot, there are things I hate about it, this being one of them. + I sort of thought about it, this is just my opinion but, the main reason why celebrities are playing is because Davies wanted a celeb to win the top prize. If Davies is smart enough, the next season won’t be featuring celebrities at all. Since a celeb will finally end up winning the million, there’s really no reason to feature them, at least in the next season.

This. Hopefully Davies has common sense the next season.

From your mouth to God's ears! I'm glad I'm not the only one scratching my head at some of the decisions they have made. Hope they fix all the things we have discussed in this thread. I just hope its not too late.

I think tonight’s episode may have been the best yet purely from a fan perspective.
Rorri played a solid game with real stakes. She won big and was beyond deserving of the money.
Instead of rambling and eating up time with excessive banter, David Chang was laser focused on the game. He’s a very enjoyable celebrity to have in the Hot Seat.
Overall, I had a lot of fun! No new episode next week, but I highly recommend tuning in the week after!

I hope everyone is tweeting @abcnetwork and writing in to the network letting them know how much we love this show. We have now officially dropped below 3 million viewers, and have dropped every week this season. We have to let ABC know what the viewers really want.
I am only positive about the show on social media, I just feel I can come to this forum to voice my concerns, and I am worried. I hope none of you mind.

The ratings are approaching end of run syndication level very rapidly. I do hope they try shuffling the time slot away from football before pulling the axe. Perhaps there’s a pandemic cushion, as well. The show is easy to produce with social distancing.
I truly wish they’d promote the first responders. Focusing only on celebrities was clearly a bad move.
If nothing else, put Millionaire back on in the daytime using the new set.

I hate it when history repeats itself. I honestly don’t think ABC knows what we truly want for the show.

The “history repeating itself” aspect is the most frustrating part.

I don’t have a TV background, so I’m not going to pretend I know anything about the TV business, but even I can see having Sunday nights in Primetime was a bad idea. Why they have so many celebrities I have no idea.
ITV does Millionaire better than ABC does, but the things ABC is doing wrong seems like common sense. I’ll keep watching, if they have another season, I will apply. I think people like Millionaire, they just don’t like what they’re seeing from Millionaire.

Well, if the show gets axed in the US, I hope it doesn’t start a chain of axing internationally as well. I honestly don’t want Millionaire to be axed in the US. No one does. It’s really sad that this is happening, but, they’re doing it to themselves. Davies should learn a lesson for next season, if it even happens: Don’t let celebrities play. If you’re gonna let celebrities play, do an episode or two for that, not an entire season. It’s not just the celebrities, it’s the time slot as well. Everyone knows that Millionaire doesn’t do good on a Sunday, if it was on a Saturday, that would be something else. At this point, let’s just hope the show doesn’t get axed.

We’re lucky we got all these new international versions during the show’s absence in the US, so maybe the international versions might not get canceled after all.
Agree with the rest, though. And I know that when they went overkill on the celebrity editions after 9/11, it only sped up the primetime Millionaire’s decline. History may be repeating itself, and as I said before, it’s not a good thing.
