Russia is bringing back Millionaire, with a non-licensed version. The following details got shared from internal sources:
1. The studio will copy the Latin American Revival versions. Perhaps the set was purchased before the current on-going situation.
2. The graphics are completely changed to their own version.
3. The classic soundtrack will be used.
4. It's been confirmed that the prize will remain at 3 million and there will be 15 questions. Details about the lifelines have not been released yet.
6. Dmitry Dibrov will be replaced by the russian radio host Svetlana Zeynalova.
7. The Fastest Finger First round will return.

Here are some photos and a video: I must say I kinda like the logo. It feels like one of those pre-standarization logos from the 1990s. All in all, this looks like they left most-everything intact so they can "go official" again once the whole ordeal going on inevitably ends. |

Though the logo looks weird compared to the standard we all know as the recognisable logo, you could easily mistake it as a parody of Millionaire rather than the official show. The set already looks better than their old set though!

To answer that without getting to much political: Russia had regular business until the ukraine-war. At the beginning of that, so many companies, brands etc.. said that they dont support this war and for human and ethical reasons, they pulled of from russia.. So they were closing down, shutting down, rejecting, stopping business, trades, deals, etc.. with them. There were so many Headlines in Social Media and the News regarding that. And under this mass of companies was Sony and their license management. They dont want their content to be associated with that country. So they rejected it. Here are just a few links regarding the film industry. The sad part (and theory from here on) is that they seem to have planned to upgrade their version. New set, new rules in early 2022 before that happend. Thats probably why they have this set ready as it is. And regarding the soundtracks? Well there are 2 ways to see this: There were other unlicensed versions in the past, that used the music, so why not keeping it OR They dont care that they get axed. For my part, from the moment you use something that belongs to the overall production of WWTBAM (in this case it is the music of the Strachan), I consider it as a license. And if this is not the case, then the company which holds the rights to the right to launch a procedure which prohibit any dissemination of content which belongs to them. No in my opinion, it is a licensed version and to say clearly, I think that given the last years that has been made the Russian version with Dibrov, it was seen as worn, that it was changing change etc. The production had planned the change for the previous year, that is to say in 2022, but in view of what happened, it was postponed. Small thing, concerning the graphics they had recently (2011 to 2022) it was theirs, so they could reuse them I think. But hey should not risk Ah by the way matt it is not Svetlana Zeynalova who will replace Dibrov, but the singer Yulianna Karaulova who also participated in the show as a duo and who won the top prize of 3.000.000 rubles. (This is information that I take in the conditional for the moment) |

It's official It is indeed Yulianna Karaulova who will present the new Russian version of WWTBAM and consequently, Dmitry Dibrov will succeed for the second time. I want proof of this in a photo that was updated today.
Other information, there will of course be civilian contestants on the 6 places for the FFF.
Here's what we know so far ;-)

Tbh thats an absolute wonderful refresher for the show.
Compare it with France.
When Camille Combal replaced Jean-Pierre-Faucault.
Was it that bad? I mean it added some fresh fluent speed to the show.
Everywhere theyre going the same direction.
Older hosts tend to chat way more with the persons.
Unless youre not interested into that and you just want to do your show
By the looks of her and knowing that she's a singer, i think this will be a good thing!
And to be fair, even though i dont understand a single word russian,
the way the show was presented was just slow and boring.
Felt more like a talkshow while the questions were adding that.
As if youre talking to a friend, not focusing on the tension, the drama, the game!
Millionaire has to be exciting, entertaining as it did in its origins in the primetime

I mean it added some fresh fluent speed to the show. Uh sorry but please don't compare the incomparable haha  Camille Combal is the worst example to give in fact. Sorry but he's soft, he's not sure of himself and believe me the viewers understood that we were bored with him. And many even young people have called for Foucault's return (me the first haha). No, if we had to give an example that works well, it's Jure Godler, from the Slovenian version.
He's been in it for 3 years, he hosts the show perfectly. They have to replace the old new animator Slavko Bobovnik, it was a casting error and at least they rectified this. |
