You know, I think they finally got most things right this time around. The last two hosts weren't exactly the right material for being hosts. Chris however has been presenting shows since 2003. They aren't exactly game shows but he has the personality of being a gameshow host. Look how Steve Harvey is doing. Sure Family Feud and Millionaire are different, but look what happened when the hosts changed. The format change was needed since season 9. It's great to see that they moved back to the ladder format again. The return of the 50:50 is great and keeping +1 is good because its the replacement for the PAF since it was taken away for the reason that was explained. I would suggest the German version where they ask an audience member if the know because if their one friend doesn't know, then the contestant is done. I wasn't expecting the chairs to come back but I would have liked to see them make a return. Overall, I think this might save the show.

The set looks more or less the same, but it sure is nice to see the classic-style money tree and lifelines make an appearance.

I wonder if the production crew figured out yet that the front right steps (from the bottom, steps 2 and 3) have had their lights reversed. I noticed this a few days into last season, but didn't say anything because I was sure they would've noticed and fixed it before the end of the season. Nope.

Now we know that someone here has a friend that went to a taping so can we ask that person if the music is the same?

Confirmed the same cues just now. Seemingly, Chris, described as suave, and a good ad libber, has a cold open where he explains the changes for the season. According to the friend, he liked it and noted: "It's like an admission that the shuffle format was bogus" and one of the spiels had Chris mention "[T]hat the show was going back to its roots." Also noted people were burning lifelines far too early, as usual. Thousandaire is still in tact for the audience game. However, he mentioned an interesting detail, questioning if the player gets $1K if they miss the any of the first five-that's likely done with, given some certain details he told me about a given player. I mean, it could still be there, but doesn't seem to be, but thank god, because it gives some actual weight and value to the first two questions. RegisFan FinalAnswer19While I don't have specifics, I do know how far up the money tree (or not) people got in around 5.5 tapings. Is this okay to divulge? Just want to be safe rather than sorry.

This seems like a stupid question but if someone walks away do they get all money or do they still get just half?

Prizes, the official rules say that losing on the first five earns you $1000.

Thanks-very interesting indeed. Apparently, this isn't in the producer's table, which likely needs a good fix if that's the case. Apparently the icon or somesuch on their screen was the Super Millionaire logo. I have no idea why and neither does he. This was my rationale, but I'll take your word for it since you know your stuff, kplewisvox. Of course, the practicality of this is nonexistent, but the pity $1,000 means that you get more by losing the first question or walking on the second than you do by getting the first question right. That desperately needs a fix.

Seeing that the classic money tree returning to the game I think is actually a very exciting change. I'm not sure how the Round 1 music is going to integrate well in the first 10 questions though, I actually think bringing back the classic cues for the questions might of been better. I really like that the second milestone is now $50,000, it's a much needed change in my opinion because $25,000 has been that milestone for 11 years now. I'm sure there won't be a lot of contestants missing on one of the first two questions. although it seems like you're gaining $500 if you get the second question wrong, that $1,000 is there to at least prevent anyone from going home with $0.

It would be much better if you lost on any of the first five questions, you would leave with half of what you had at that point. (E.g., getting question five wrong means you leave with $1,500.) That would also mean that everyone would win something unless you lost on the very first question.

Finally! After 5 years, they're bringing back the original format. I'm glad they changed the lifelines for the show. I feel like there should be more than just the jump lifelines when the shuffle format started. Cedric the Entertainer and Terry Crews were fine, but Chris Harrison will be better. The original format revival will also bring back the suspense that was absent since the shuffle format was introduced. I'm hoping they will still continue their theme weeks and I'm hoping there will finally be a millionaire since Sam Murray (Tournament Format) and Nancy Christy (Normal Gameplay).

Gotcha-- and thanks. While I haven't any of those-but from what I was told, nobody reached the third tier yet. This is fascinating, because it means either the casting of players isn't that great, question difficulty is harder, or a combination of the two. Given how early we are in tape dates, I'm inclined to think the player quality on the whole isn't as good as it would be.

They've seemingly been casting poor contestants for a few years now. Most of them are very bad at picking up on the simplest of clues in the questions.
