Wow! Michael Davies came to the rescue this weekend with some very interesting news about Millionaire in the US!
Variety ran an article on Friday that detailed which of ABC's game shows had been cancelled and renewed for the upcoming season. Millionaire wasn't mentioned in the article, which led Buzzerblog to suggest that the show had been quietly cancelled. That prompted a response from Michael Davies, who tweeted the following:
The simple phrase, "You have no idea how hilarious this is" certainly suggests that ABC has plans for new episodes of Millionaire in some form over the next year. Please allow yourselves to be cautiously excited, and let the speculation begin!

Any time BuzzerBlog gets egg on their faces, I'm a happy guy. See... I didn't want to say it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it. Haha. But yeah, I think this was just a big misreading of what Variety reported of the game being put on ice. |

With Dancing With The Stars recently announced as moving from ABC to Disney+...I wonder if a similar fate could be in the cards...

That’s an interesting idea. While I’d prefer it to air on ABC, having Millionaire accessible via streaming would also be pretty great. Especially if they would also put up the back catalogue of episodes.  |

Can you imagine having all primetime and syndicated on Disney+?? Let's just say I'd be watching a LOT of Millionaire if that ended up the case. Mainly Regis or Meredith pre-Shuffle. |

Can you imagine having all primetime and syndicated on Disney+?? It would be a dream. There would literally always be something to watch. Not to mention that most of the early syndicated episodes haven’t been shown in almost two decades! Sure, there was that brief stint on GSN, but that’s it! |
